The Hockey Stick vs. Ice Core Data

There's severe doubt now about the validity of the hockey stick rise. Nevertheless, even accepting that it exists, we can see that it is not so significant when juxtaposed to the historical record. Furthermore, the question as to whether man made carbon is responsible for the temperature rise is also highly contentious. Carbon increases seem to follow after a rise in temperature, not the other way around.
