spook,Jon Stewart is a comedian. When he says Ron Paul is his only hope, he means the other two candidates won't be very funny going forward. It's only the prospect of Ron Paul doing funny things that Stewart thinks will help him make jokes on into the future. This is not exactly to encourage Ron Paul supporters.s.
S,Even though Stewart is a comedian I read this slightly differently. Stewart has had Paul on the show and treated him very fairly. His introduction included the comment that he had integrity.I think there is a subtle message here that reflects the truth about the other two. Yes, he said that in jest, but I think this comment was actually an honest one. Notice that Jon Stewart or Stephen Corbett to not go after Paul on their shows. Corbett, speaking as himself even went so far as to "endorse" Paul as the best republican candidate. Spook
spook,I've watched Stewart and Colbert...not very much lately because I've been doing other things. But, I have the opinion that neither has the view that the whole world is worthless and that everything can be the butt of a joke. So, they also have political opinions which, I suspect, you have fairly described. However, Stewart did seem to be suggesting that it would be funny, as well as seriously helpful, if Paul continued on.s.
S,We will have to stay tuned to see what else Mr Stewart has to say ... he is doing news comedy after all and some level of jesting is to be expected.Spook !
