China LIED In Order To Extract Critical Medical Supplies, Launches Propaganda Campaign To Exploit Us (TimPool)

China LIED In Order To Extract Critical Medical Supplies, Launches Propaganda Campaign To Exploit Us. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic China has been lying.

We now know that while they were lying to the world about the severity of the virus they were also instructing employees abroad to begin purchasing up critical medical supplies and having them ship it to China. This happened in several countries.

By holding us at bay by downplaying the severity they bought time to extract our resources and this has led to our people suffering.

China is still lying and is now actively harming us and other countries by sowing disinformation campaigns meant to slow our response as well as sending faulty medical equipment back to these countries.

Trump has been has been right about China from the start and its time we start trusting ourselves and not the disinformation.

The crooks running China have lost sight of themselves. They're not as popular or in control of things globally as they think they are. Their actions are causing a revolt worldwide against their influence. Anti-globalisation trading walls are going to be put up at the end of all this with tariffs on imported goods, stricter immigration controls, and monetary controls. Nationalist parties will rise further in all countries. And actions will be taken against Chinese (and other countries) donations to political bodies.

The big lesson here is that, when things go bad each country ends up (by necessity) looking after their own interests. Being tied to foreign powers, that can strip you of vital medicine, is not the way to go. Some country to country trade is a god thing, but every country (or small region) needs to be as self sufficient as possible. If that means trading barriers need to go up, then so be it.

Fighting The Coronavirus: Good Learnings From Germany

As we reported yesterday, with the world sharing its data, we are starting to get a better handle on understanding the coronavirus.

This real-time exchange of data and insights going on across the globe right now is invaluable to global efforts to fight the spread of covid-19 more effectively.

Germany has recently contributed two important pieces to the puzzle.

First, it has been conducting *many* more tests per capita than other countries (500,000/week). Due to this, they have a better picture of the true # of infected people. Their recent data suggests that the real Case Fatality Rate (CFR) for covid-19 is closer to 0.4% -- substantially lower than the rates calculated for most other countries, who don't test as aggressively.

A 0.4% CFR is still concerning, but is substantially better than the previous 2-3% estimates from just a few weeks back.

Second, because it tests so many people, Germany is swiftly building a database of people who recover and therefore have anti-bodies against the virus. It plans to fast-track these folks' return to work, so that they can get the economy recovering faster without fear of infecting others.

In this way, valuable insights lead to more effective policies -- just like the Czech Republic has done with the #Masks4All movement.

As we get smarter, we get stronger. This, folks, is how we'll beat covid-19.

Coronavirus Update: 732,000 Cases, 34,000 Dead, Turkey Approaches 10,000 Cases (Styx)

I suspect there's a mutant that kills 10% or so and a main infection type with a lethality of 1% or so.

Aside from the medical treatment it does look like there is more than one strain doing the rounds. Which is troubling. Closed borders should help contain things somewhat.

Australia Must Have a 'Long, Hard' Look at Further Relations with China

Australia needs to have a “very long, hard and truthful discussion” about its relationship with China following the crisis caused by COVID-19, Outsiders host Rowan Dean says.

Mr Dean said it’s time we no longer take the nation on its word.

“When all this is over, Australia needs to have a very long, hard and truthful discussion about any future relationships with China. Warts and all,” he said.

“The Chinese communist dictatorship is a sinister and deeply untrustworthy entity, profiting from this calamity when they should be paying for it.”

The video reminds people that China is busy building military bases on small Islands far away from China in order to grab land from other nations in the region. They're essentially stealing territory from other countries that cannot do much to stop them - colonisation redux. Who wants good relations with a country that does that?

Just as we criticise the US and its allies for foreign interventions around the world, so too do we (at this blogsite) criticise the Chinese Government for engaging in these nefarious activities.

Kurdish Militias Start New Dangerous Game In Northern Syria

An armed group named the Islamic Revenge Movement (IRM), hostile towards both Turkish forces and the Syrian Army announced its existence in northern Syria. In a video message released on March 20, the IRM claimed that in 2019 its members conducted 118 attacks killing 13 Turkish officers, 187 Turkish-backed militants and 24 pro-government fighters. The IRM also vowed to continue its fight against the "tyrant state" of Turkey and the "Assad regime" in 2020. The claims of the IRM are very questionable, as the group provided no evidence with which to confirm them.
Furthermore, pro-Kurdish sources were first to release the IRM video arguing that the group consisted of former al-Qaeda members. They also released the name of the supposed group leader:  "Abu Osama al-Shami." Syrian opposition and pro-al-Qaeda sources called the group fake. According to them, the video is just a coverup for actions by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). Both groups prefer to distance themselves from acts of direct aggression against the Syrian military and the Turkish Army in northern Syria. In the public sphere, the YPG plays a victim oppressed by the bloody Assad regime and Erdogan the Invader. In reality, it already has a special brand created to distance the group from attacks on Turkish troops and proxies in Afrin – the Afrin Liberation Forces. The Turkish-rooted PKK pretends that it has no bases and fighters in the region despite the fact that a large part of YPG commanders and members is linked with the PKK.

Federal Reserve Chairman Donald Trump? POTUS Could Save America

Stimulus bill includes provision essentially merging the Fed and Treasury into one organization

President Trump could be pulling off a major move that has the potential to save America and its economy as the nation faces one of its most difficult periods in recent history.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the health, economic and societal fears that come with it, President Trump might come out of the chaotic situation a hero.

A Bloomberg opinion article and written by Jim Bianco explains how “the federal government is nationalizing large swaths of the financial markets.”

“The Fed is providing the money to do it,” the author states. “This scheme essentially merges the Fed and Treasury into one organization. So, meet your new Fed chairman, Donald J. Trump.”

How could this happen?

Essentially, the Federal Reserve has created multiple new programs lately that serve a slew of purposes.
Bianco lists the following programs and their intended functions:
CPFF (Commercial Paper Funding Facility) – buying commercial paper from the issuer. PMCCF (Primary Market Corporate Credit Facility) – buying corporate bonds from the issuer. TALF (Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility) – funding backstop for asset-backed securities. SMCCF (Secondary Market Corporate Credit Facility) – buying corporate bonds and bond ETFs in the secondary market. MSBLP (Main Street Business Lending Program) – Details are to come, but it will lend to eligible small and medium-size businesses, complementing efforts by the Small Business Association.
“The Fed isn’t allowed to do any of this,” he continues. “The central bank is only allowed to purchase or lend against securities that have government guarantee. This includes Treasury securities, agency mortgage-backed securities and the debt issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. An argument can be made that can also include municipal securities, but nothing in the laundry list above.”

So if the Fed “isn’t allowed” to conduct the above-mentioned operations, how is any of this happening?

Each acronym program listed will be connected to a special purpose vehicle (SPV) financed by the Fed.

Next, the Treasury will make an equity investment in each SPV, meaning they, not the Fed, purchase the securities and backstopping of loans and the Fed is acting as a bank providing financing.

“The Fed hired BlackRock Inc. to purchase these securities and handle the administration of the SPVs on behalf of the owner, the Treasury,” Bianco writes.

“In effect,” he says, “The Fed is giving the Treasury access to its printing press.”

This is revolutionary because America’s Founding Fathers granted the power to print coin to Congress and Congress only.

Article I Section 8 permits Congress to coin money and to regulate its value and Section 10 denies states the right to coin their own money.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 5 specifically grants Congress power to “coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin.”

Therefore, the framers clearly wanted the national monetary system to rest in the hands of America, not a private consortium of foreign banks, AKA the Federal Reserve.

This move appears to undo, at least partially, what former President Woodrow Wilson did in 1913, which was surrender Congress’ money-regulating powers to the privately-owned Federal Reserve.

Has Trump managed to take back control of America’s currency amid the greatest U.S. crisis since 9/11?

Unfortunate Adventures Of Turkish Army In Idlib

Two Turkish soldiers were injured and two vehicles damaged in Syria’s southern Idlib on March 24. Their military convoy was targeted by a roadside bomb explosion near the village of Sfuhun. Turkish troops based at the al-Barah observation post were conducting a patrol along the contact line between the Syrian Army and Idlib armed groups.
This became the second attack on Turkish forces in Greater Idlib in less than 7 days. On March 19, two Turkish soldiers were killed and several others injured, when an IED exploded near their convoy near the village of Muhamabal.
Pro-militant propaganda claims that the attacks were carried out by the ‘criminal Assad regime’ in an attempt to destabilize the situation. Turkish media outlets pay scant attention to the situation reporting about some unidentified radicals. The open secret is that Turkish forces have become the target of attacks by groups that Ankara has been supporting with its  opposition of the anti-terrorist operations of the Syrian Army. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, Houras al-Din, the Turkistan Islamic Party and similar organizations see the creation of a buffer zone along the M4 as a grave threat to their interests and survival. Therefore they are sabotaging the deal by blocking the highway and fuelling military tensions in the region. In the near future, they may even stage a large false-flag attack on Turkish forces near the contact line planning to blame the ‘Assad regime’ for it and thus  relaunch military hostilities between the Turkish Army and the Syrian Armed Forces.

SDF Releases Tens Of ISIS Members In Eastern Syria. Turkey, Russia Struggle With Idlib De-Escalation

On March 23, Russian and Turkish forces carried out a second limited joint patrol in southern Idlib. The patrol involved six armoured vehicles and took place along a short chunk of the M4 highway west of the government-controlled town of Saraqib. This part of the highway remains the only safe place within the entire security zone, which was set to be established in the framework of the Russian-Turkish de-escalation agreement.
After the March 23 patrol, the Turkish side got additional time to neutralize terrorists and radicals entrenched in the agreed to buffer zone. This was the second time when Moscow provided Ankara with such an opportunity. However, Ankara seems to be taking very little or no efforts to do so.
Over the past days, the Turkish Army established observation points near Khattab and Msheirfeh and made a formal attempt to de-block the highway removing earthen mounds made by terrorists. Despite these heroic efforts of the Turkish military, the M4 remains in the hands of al-Qaeda-linked groups and the security zone there exists only on paper. Such a situation on the ground is slowly but inevitably leading to the resumption of hostilities in the region.

Coronavirus: The High Cost Of Being Wrong

Picking up from yesterday's video rebutting the latest media campaign of "It's not going to be that bad" opinion pieces from 'experts', Chris investigates the cost of being wrong in these predictions.

This is important because government and health care response policies are being influenced by these experts.

If we pick the wrong policies, millions of lives and trillions in wealth are at stake.

Chris walks through the two main competing theories on the pandemic's projected impact and highlights the merits and shortcomings of each.

In his opinion, the logic underlying one is much stronger than the other.

RECAP: Ellen Brown on Why We Should Own the Banks

Banks create money – nearly all of it. Should we recapture the sovereign power to create money by reclaiming ownership of the banks? Founder and President of the Public Banking Institute Ellen Brown argues that we need to own the banks – or at least some of them – in order to ensure the safety of our deposits, public and private; to reclaim the profits for the public interest; to reclaim control over where our credit goes and on what terms; and to cut the costs of government.

At the start of the video Ellen Brown explains that the banks literally create money via an accounting entry. Using a public bank, money CAN be created to pay for everything while people are in lockdown because of the virus - creating money for a temporary Universal Basic Income - and then forgiving/cancelling the debt/credit that was created out of thin air. The only issue is to not print too much money that would cause inflation.

Gerald Celente – Gold in Greatest Depression Will Be Stolen

After talk of trillions of dollars in new stimulus from Congress this week, what about gold prices? Gerald Celente, a top trends researcher, says, “You saw how much the markets went up. How about gold prices? It bounced back $200 per ounce since Friday. . . . The smart money is seeing the fake money being printed, and they are going into gold. Now hear this. Just like the crummy, slimy politicians going after your Constitutional rights and Bill of Rights, they are going to go after your gold. They did it in the last Great Depression, and they are going to do it in the Greatest Depression. You mark my words.”

In closing, Celente says, “I agree with Trump 100% because I have been saying this since the beginning that the cure is going to worse than the disease. They are destroying the global economy. They are destroying people’s lives. We are going to see crime levels that are unimaginable. Why do you think people are going out and getting guns? Then you are going to see these liberals talking about gun confiscation. Crime is going to escalate, and deaths are going to go through the roof. When people lose everything and have nothing left to lose, they lose it. You are going to see gangs like never before. On the other end, the open borders issue, that is a closed story. They are closing borders all over the world. So, you are not going to hear people say let them in, let them in--that’s over. I agree with Trump. We should go back to business as usual.”

On Trump winning a second term this November, Celente, who calls himself a “political atheist,” says, “It’s a wild card, but I would still go with Trump at this point.”

Celente is right that the US likely won't be able to look after their population after they initiate a full lockdown. What they should do is mandate a bill holiday and pay a Universal Basic Income for all the workers whose companies have gone into lockdown hibernation.

Also, I think Celente has it wrong on the Coronavirus. The virus is only just getting started. It is more deadly than the flu by all accounts. Comparing total deaths at this early stage with the ordinary flu is wrongheaded.

How unemployment can kill you

Anyone who's been laid off or downsized knows that unemployment is hard on morale. But according to a new study, it can also kill you. Researchers at McGill and Stony Brook universities found that being unemployed increases your chance of an early death by a shocking 63 percent. And it's worse for men — 78 percent, versus 37 percent for women. Why is not working so deadly? Here, a brief guide:

How did they get these numbers?

McGill sociologist Eran Shor and his team looked at 40 years' worth of research on 20 million people in 15 countries. In other words, it "was not the result of a quickie phone survey,"
says Lisa Johnson Mandell at Aol Jobs. The researchers screened for pre-existing health conditions and quality of health care, but the correlation between death and joblessness held across all 15 countries. That means, says Shor, that the "unemployment-mortality relationship is quite likely a causal one."

What's so deadly about unemployment?

Stress about money, finding a job, and social standing all lead to unhealthy habits. And the researchers are not just talking about "wearing your pajamas all day,"
says Max Read in Gawker. They mean "unhealthy habits like eating poorly, drinking too much, smoking, and watching the entire stretch of Law and Order with Michael Imperioli even though good episodes of SVU are, like, three channels away."

Why is it worse for men?

They feel obligated to be breadwinners, Shor says. "When a man loses his job, it still often means that the family will become poorer and suffer in various ways, which in turn can have a huge impact on a man's health by leading to both increased smoking, drinking or eating, and by reducing the availability of healthy nutrition and health care services."

What's a jobless person to do?

Shor says that public health agencies should be "targeting this with interventions," like cardiovascular screenings for unemployed people or workshops on how to avoid falling into risky behavior. While it may be tempting to smoke, drink, and TV-watch your jobless days away,
says psychologist Kenneth Manges, people mistake those unhealthy habits for "tension-relievers, when in fact they are tension-exasperators." Instead, the jobless should join a support group for emotional support.

Is anything deadlier than being unemployed?

Yes, working too much. A
new study in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that working 11 hours or more a day for a dozen years gives you a 67 percent higher chance of dying or having a heart attack than those working eight-hour days. It's unclear why, exactly, but chronic stress and sitting at a desk for long hours are likely culprits. So be sure to stand up and stretch every once in a while, "or even take a lap or two around the office," says Maria Vultaggio in Long Island Press. Or you could, you know, "try the unmentionable, clocking out a little early."

University Study Finds Fire Did Not Cause Building 7’s Collapse on 9/11

University Study Finds Fire Did Not Cause Building 7’s Collapse on 9/11

It is unfortunate that such an important report was released during a health and economic crisis when it will be overshadowed and neglected by two simultaneous crises.

On March 25, 2020, researchers at the University of Alaska Fairbanks issued the final report of a four-year computer modeling study on the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.

The 47-story WTC 7 was the third skyscraper to be completely destroyed on September 11, 2001, collapsing rapidly and symmetrically into its footprint at 5:20 PM. Seven years later, investigators at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) concluded that WTC 7 was the first steel-framed high-rise ever to have collapsed solely as a result of normal office fires.

Contrary to the conclusions of NIST, the UAF research team finds that the collapse of WTC 7 on 9/11 was not caused by fires but instead was caused by the near-simultaneous failure of every column in the building [which means it was a controlled demolition].

Impressive Successes Of Houthis In Yemeni War Amid Saudi Oil Gamble

The conflict in Yemen has escalated amid the crisis on the oil market caused by aggressive actions of Saudi Arabia.
On March 8, Riyadh launched its oil gamble flooding the market and offering unprecedented discounts in an attempt to defeat other oil producers, mainly Russia and Iran, and capture their share. In the next several weeks, Saudi Arabia was increasing its pressure on Russia on Iran slashing oil prices, but the Kingdom forgot about its own soft underbelly.
By March 17, forces of Ansar Allah (the Houthis) have captured most of the province of al-Jawf, including the provincial capital – al-Hazm, from the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies. In this battle only, Saudi-led forces lost hundreds pieces of military equipment, including dozens of battle tanks and artillery guns. The Saudi Air Force carried out airstrikes on positions, HQs and weapon depots of its allies. However, the number of abandoned equipment and the speed of fleeing of Saudi-backed troops were so high that 10-20 airstrikes were just not enough to compensate them.

We Should Boycott China (Sargon)

We seriously need to rethink our relationship to China.

We should return industry to the West after corporations moved production to China and killed high value jobs. I don't know if a boycott is the right way to go about it, but every country needs to become more self sufficient. We need borders and a less open system.

Also, China did appear to cover-up the severity of the disease. A mistaken release of information showed that the real death toll in Wuhan was closer to 25,000.

This makes sense if we consider the death tolls in Italy and Spain. When it comes to the relatively low death tolls on the Ocean liners it is probable that a less lethal strain was present. There are at least two strains of the virus that were mapped early on in China.

The bottom line is that this virus was out in China from at least the 17th of November 2019, and they were slow to implement a lockdown. This would account for the high leaked figure of 24,589 and what we see in Europe.

Great round table discussion about how the Comic Book industry turned SJW, lost sales, and now, with stores closing due to the Corona Virus, are looking at alternative ways to sell. The industry artists are now looking to sell direct to customers, that they had previously treated badly (in many cases) - unlike the Comicsgate movement which connected to their fans and produced non-SJW products that people wanted to buy. It was a 'customer wants' movement in large part that steered clear of injecting politics or virtue signalling tropes into their mass appeal stories.

Selling comics for Comicsgate was all about the customer, whereas with many PC leaders operating in the legacy industry, it was all about themselves and their politics when what their goals should have been was to tailor a product to the mass market (as opposed to the niche SJW market). The simple fact of the matter is that most people buying comics didn't want their heroes subverted and changed into things they were not and material packed with overly introspective drivel that was light on the action (the opposite of the blockbuster movies that sell).

A very important video about the nature of the virus. It appears to have a propensity to mutate.

President Trump vs. Reality

Here Is Reality:

Here Is Trump:

Trump Calls for U.S. to Be Open ‘by Easter’

New York Times Updated March 24, 2020, 3:58 p.m.

New York, now the center of the outbreak in America, braces for a flood of patients.

Trump expressed outrage at having to ‘close the country’ to curb the spread of the virus.

Even as nations from Britain to India declare nationwide economic lockdowns, President Trump said he “would love to have the country opened up, and just raring to go, by Easter,” less than three weeks away, a goal that top health professionals have called far too quick.

“I think it’s possible, why not?” he said with a shrug.

Participating in a town hall hosted by Fox News on Tuesday, he expressed outrage about having to “close the country” to curb the spread of the coronavirus and indicated that his guidelines on business shutdowns and social distancing would soon be lifted.

“I gave it two weeks,” he said, adding, “We can socially distance ourselves and go to work.”

Both Mr. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence said that a lockdown had never been under consideration for the United States. Mr. Pence told viewers that talk of it was misinformation that has circulated online.

“I can tell you that at no point has the White House coronavirus task forcediscussed a nationwide lockdown,” he said, answering a question from a viewer on the phone.

Mr. Trump fell back on his comparison of the coronavirus to the flu, saying that despite losing thousands of people to the flu, “We don’t turn the country off.”

He also said that more people die of automobile accidents, but nobody forces car companies to stop manufacturing vehicles.

States including California, Maryland, Illinois and Washington have declared stay-at-home or shutdown orders, but other states have been looking for directives from the Trump administration. And countries in Asia are beginning to see a resurgence of coronavirus after easing up on restrictions.

For governors and mayors who have been trying to educate people about the urgent need to stay home and maintain social distance, Mr. Trump’s recent statements suggesting that such measures may be going too far threatened to make their jobs more difficult.

“Some of the messaging is pretty confusing,” Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland, a Republican who moved this week to close nonessential businesses in his state, said in an interview Tuesday morning on CNN, before the president announced his new Easter goal, when he was asked about the Mr. Trump’s talk in recent days of relaxing social distancing guidelines. “I think it’s not just it doesn’t match with what we’re doing here in Maryland. Some of the messaging coming out of the administration doesn’t match.”

Mr. Hogan, the chairman of the bipartisan National Governors Association, said that health officials suggest that the virus’s peak could be weeks or months away. “We’re just trying to take the best advice that we can from the scientists and all the experts, and making the decisions that we believe are necessary for our states,” he said.

As the town hall meeting was getting underway Tuesday, three leading medical and health organizations urged Americans to stay home to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

“We are honored to serve and put our lives on the front line to protect and save as many lives as possible,” the American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and American Nurses Association wrote in an open letter. “But we need your help.”

But the president and vice president were resolute that they want the country reopened. Mr. Pence said the administration’s timeline for trying to get businesses restarted and workers out of their homes was shorter than the period that health experts have said would be necessary to flatten the curve.

“We’ll focus on our most vulnerable, but putting America back to work will also be a priority, in weeks not months,” Mr. Pence said.

Mr. Trump struck a remarkably different tone from other world leaders. In Italy, which has more coronavirus deaths than any other country, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced on Tuesday that he was raising the fines on people who defy the lockdown order.

He also said two malaria drugs, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, had been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for off-label use treating patients with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The F.D.A. did not immediately confirm that assertion, but two administration health officials said it was not true.

The White House had teamed up with the computer technology giant Oracle to promote the drugs, which Mr. Trump has touted repeatedly, even before the government approved their use for the outbreak, according to five senior administration officials and others familiar with the plans.

Given a microphone for nearly two hours, Mr. Trump also used a town hall on Fox News for politics. Within moments of going live, he went after his likely foe in November, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.

He referred to him as “Sleepy Joe” and claimed that Mr. Biden did not know what the word “xenophobic” meant when he criticized Mr. Trump’s approach to the spreading coronavirus.

Sorry Mr President, but the situation is worse than you would like to think (or articulate). The virus cannot be stopped because it is spread asymptomatically - but it can be slowed down enough, with social distancing and lockdowns, to allow hospitals to treat the seriously ill. That is the best strategy for now.

To preserve the economy, massive money printing is in order to replace lost wages and to look after all businesses. The money (debt) should then be forgiven.

Reality can be distorted on various levels within our realm of control, but the virus is not within such an easily manipulated realm.

The West is not China, and must not go down the path of dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic solely by means of big government solutions. Even The Young & Healthy Are Getting The Coronavirus

Covid-19's exponential spread across the world continues unabated, except in China, where the rate of officially reported new cases has slowed dramatically.

At the same time, cases in India are on the rise. Might India be the next big outbreak location? Time will tell.

Meanwhile, this honey badger of a virus shows that it "just don't care" who you are. We are getting more reports of young and healthy people getting hit hard. Rich, famous, royal, powerful -- it doesn't matter, all socioeconomic strata are coming down with it.

We're also getting reports that social distancing, PPE and good hygiene practices really do make a big difference -- so keep up your efforts, folks!

This Is Why People All Over America Are Scared To Death Of Being Tested For The Coronavirus…

I have written about this numerous times before, but not even I would have imagined that getting tested and treated for coronavirus would cost more than $34,000…

A woman in the United States says she was billed $34,927.43 after being tested and treated for the coronavirus, Time magazine reports.

When Danni Askini first came down with the symptoms of the virus — shortness of breath, a fever, a cough and migraines — she was told by a doctor to go to the emergency room. There, she was told she had pneumonia and could go home. She visited the emergency room two more times as her symptoms persisted and worsened before she was finally tested for the coronavirus. Three days later her results showed she had COVID-19.

How in the world is it possible for a bill to get that high?

As Danni pointed out, she now owes the hospital more than she paid for both of her college degrees.

China Uses the Michael Hudson/Paul Craig Roberts Solution for the Economic Crisis

China Uses the Michael Hudson/Paul Craig Roberts Solution for the Economic Crisis

China Braces for Further Economic Shockwaves

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

For the past 40 years, China achieved sustained high-level economic growth, experiencing short-term bumps alone along the way.

On a purchase price basis, what a basket of goods costs compared to the US, China already is the world’s largest economy, though not so far on a GDP basis.

Economic analysts call China’s growth from 1979 to 2019 one of the greatest economic success achievements in modern times.

Initiated by Deng Xiaoping, he called the process “crossing the river by touching the stones” — aided by large-scale domestic and foreign investment, productivity gains, significant economic stimulus and expansive monetary policy.

Last August, Ellen Brown explained that “neoliberalism met its match in China (by) subsidiz(ing) worker costs (and) the costs of its businesses,” adding:

Around 80% of banks are nationalized. “The government owns 80% of the banks, which make loans on favorable terms to domestic businesses, especially state-owned businesses.”

“Typically, if the businesses cannot repay the loans, neither the banks nor the businesses are put into bankruptcy, since that would mean losing jobs and factories.”

“(N)on-performing loans are…written off. No private creditors are hurt, since the creditor is the government.”

Corporations “are largely state-owned.” China’s economic/financial model focuses on longterm considerations, not “short-term profits for private shareholders.”

Instead of pressuring China to adopt a flawed US neoliberal system, Washington should move toward reworking the US economy to operate like China’s.

Brown put it this way:

“The Chinese have proven the effectiveness of their public banking system in supporting their industries and their workers.”

“Rather than seeing it as an existential threat, we could thank them for test-driving the model and take a spin in it ourselves.”

Noted market analyst Jeremy Grantham earlier compared (Wall Street run) Fed policy to beating a donkey, saying:

“We’ve been conned.” We’re manipulated to believe that “debt is everything.” Mounting exponentially, it’s unsustainable.

The Fed “keeps beating (the economy) until it either turns into a horse or drops dead from too much beating.”

Fed policy has nothing to do with longterm growth, everything to do with helping bankers, other corporate favorites, and large investors — at the expense of sustainable growth since the 1990s.

Grantham stressed that the “real world is the quantity and quality of your people, and the quality and quantity of capital spending.”

“Are you building new machines? Are you being inventive?” Are you educating a new generation properly?

“We’re in this death grip that only paper things matter.”

David Stockman called money printing madness and bailouts the “most shameful chapter in American financial history” — grand theft by any standard by wrecking economies to benefit Wall Street and other corporate favorites while waging war on social justice.

Michael Hudson explained that debts too high to be repaid won’t be.

Money power in private hands created unsustainable consumer and corporate debt, record budget and trade deficits, out-of-control national debt, an unprecedented wealth gap, along with Depression-level unemployment, poverty, homelessness, food insecurity and hunger — at a time when things are heading toward getting much worse.

The US is waging war on China by other means, wanting its economic, financial, industrial, technological, and military development undermined.

Was COVID-19 introduced in China by the US as part of its strategy to try achieving the above aims?

Throughout the post-WW II period, the US waged war by hot and other means on numerous countries to smash their infrastructure, massacre their people, crush their economies, and immiserate their population — aiming to transform them into vassal states.

Bottom line: The policy hugely benefitted military, industrial, security, media, and other corporate interests.

It failed to achieve imperial objectives. The US hasn’t won a hot war since WW II ended.

Its wars by other means on Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and other countries fared no better.

China’s resilient economy will likely rebound ahead from its February 2020 slump.

Its manufacturing index plunged from 50.0 in January to below the November 2008 38.8 low in February.

Its service and construction sectors fell from 54.1 in January to 29.6.

On Monday, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that the nation is “braced for a second economic shock wave as COVID-19 controls kill demand.”

Closure of overseas markets will greatly curtail exports that will dramatically affect China’s economy adversely.

SCMP quoted a Chinese manufacturer, saying it “returned to 100% capacity for overseas demand, but sadly the market is either shutting, or about to shut.”

Orders are either delayed or cancelled because of conditions in the US and other countries.

Things are similar to 2008-09, possibly much worse if what’s going on continues through 2020 or longer.

In January and February, Chinese exports fell over 17%, economists projecting greater declines ahead at least short-term.

Global COVID-19 outbreaks aren’t remotely near epidemic and pandemic levels, but there’s risk that things could could reach them in countries hit hardest or globally.

As of Monday, 340,000 cases were reported worldwide, less than 15,000 deaths.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated at least 38 million US flu illnesses, 390,000 hospitalizations, and 23,000 deaths this flu season (beginning last October) through mid-March — the season lasting until end of May.

Worldwide the number of seasonal flu/influenza cases is many times the above numbers with no fear-mongering headlines scaring people to death.

The difference between seasonal flu and COVID-19 is the latter is highly contagious and only experimental cures exist.

Clearly the disease is cause for concern, but proper actions by ruling authorities can control it.

In China, the rate of transmission keeps falling, though it’s unknown whether a new wave could erupt.

Beijing took draconian measures to achieve dramatic results.

No nations are out of the woods, things highly likely to worsen ahead before improving.

Responsible government actions and personal efforts to stay safe are needed to defeat COVID-19.

Like other times of public angst, this too shall pass.

Of much greater concern is whether the public welfare will be gravely harmed in the US and elsewhere on the phony pretext of providing greater security.

"Holy Shit, This Is Not The Flu": Medical Worker Describes Terrifying Lung Failure From COVID-19... Even In Young Patients

As of Friday, Louisiana was reporting 479 confirmed cases of COVID-19, one of the highest numbers in the country. Ten people had died. The majority of cases are in New Orleans, which now has one confirmed case for every 1,000 residents. New Orleans had held Mardi Gras celebrations just two weeks before its first patient, with more than a million revelers on its streets.

I spoke to a respiratory therapist there, whose job is to ensure that patients are breathing well. He works in a medium-sized city hospital’s intensive care unit. (We are withholding his name and employer, as he fears retaliation.) Before the virus came to New Orleans, his days were pretty relaxed, nebulizing patients with asthma, adjusting oxygen tubes that run through the nose or, in the most severe cases, setting up and managing ventilators. His patients were usually older, with chronic health conditions and bad lungs.

Since last week, he’s been running ventilators for the sickest COVID-19 patients. Many are relatively young, in their 40s and 50s, and have minimal, if any, preexisting conditions in their charts. He is overwhelmed, stunned by the manifestation of the infection, both its speed and intensity. The ICU where he works has essentially become a coronavirus unit. He estimates that his hospital has admitted dozens of confirmed or presumptive coronavirus patients. About a third have ended up on ventilators.
His hospital had not prepared for this volume before the virus first appeared. One physician had tried to raise alarms, asking about negative pressure rooms and ventilators. Most staff concluded that he was overreacting. “They thought the media was overhyping it,” the respiratory therapist told me. “In retrospect, he was right to be concerned.”
He spoke to me by phone on Thursday about why, exactly, he has been so alarmed. His account has been condensed and edited for clarity.
“Reading about it in the news, I knew it was going to be bad, but we deal with the flu every year so I was thinking: Well, it’s probably not that much worse than the flu. But seeing patients with COVID-19 completely changed my perspective, and it’s a lot more frightening.
This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people.
I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all.”

They suddenly become unresponsive or go into respiratory failure.

“We have an observation unit in the hospital, and we have been admitting patients that had tested positive or are presumptive positive — these are patients that had been in contact with people who were positive. We go and check vitals on patients every four hours, and some are on a continuous cardiac monitor, so we see that their heart rate has a sudden increase or decrease, or someone goes in and sees that the patient is struggling to breathe or is unresponsive. That seems to be what happens to a lot of these patients: They suddenly become unresponsive or go into respiratory failure.
The lung is filled with so much fluid, displacing where the air would normally be.
“It’s called acute respiratory distress syndrome, ARDS. That means the lungs are filled with fluid. And it’s notable for the way the X-ray looks: The entire lung is basically whited out from fluid. Patients with ARDS are extremely difficult to oxygenate. It has a really high mortality rate, about 40%. The way to manage it is to put a patient on a ventilator. The additional pressure helps the oxygen go into the bloodstream.
“Normally, ARDS is something that happens over time as the lungs get more and more inflamed. But with this virus, it seems like it happens overnight. When you’re healthy, your lung is made up of little balloons. Like a tree is made out of a bunch of little leaves, the lung is made of little air sacs that are called the alveoli. When you breathe in, all of those little air sacs inflate, and they have capillaries in the walls, little blood vessels. The oxygen gets from the air in the lung into the blood so it can be carried around the body.
“Typically with ARDS, the lungs become inflamed. It’s like inflammation anywhere: If you have a burn on your arm, the skin around it turns red from additional blood flow. The body is sending it additional nutrients to heal. The problem is, when that happens in your lungs, fluid and extra blood starts going to the lungs. Viruses can injure cells in the walls of the alveoli, so the fluid leaks into the alveoli. A telltale sign of ARDS in an X-ray is what’s called ‘ground glass opacity,’ like an old-fashioned ground glass privacy window in a shower. And lungs look that way because fluid is white on an X-ray, so the lung looks like white ground glass, or sometimes pure white, because the lung is filled with so much fluid, displacing where the air would normally be.

This severity ... is usually more typical of someone who has a near drowning experience ... or people who inhale caustic gas.

“With our coronavirus patients, once they’re on ventilators, most need about the highest settings that we can do. About 90% oxygen, and 16 of PEEP, positive end-expiratory pressure, which keeps the lung inflated. This is nearly as high as I’ve ever seen. The level we’re at means we are running out of options.
“In my experience, this severity of ARDS is usually more typical of someone who has a near drowning experience — they have a bunch of dirty water in their lungs — or people who inhale caustic gas. Especially for it to have such an acute onset like that. I’ve never seen a microorganism or an infectious process cause such acute damage to the lungs so rapidly. That was what really shocked me.
You’ll try to rip the breathing tube out because you feel it is choking you ...
“It first struck me how different it was when I saw my first coronavirus patient go bad. I was like, Holy shit, this is not the flu. Watching this relatively young guy, gasping for air, pink frothy secretions coming out of his tube and out of his mouth. The ventilator should have been doing the work of breathing but he was still gasping for air, moving his mouth, moving his body, struggling. We had to restrain him. With all the coronavirus patients, we’ve had to restrain them. They really hyperventilate, really struggle to breathe. When you’re in that mindstate of struggling to breathe and delirious with fever, you don’t know when someone is trying to help you, so you’ll try to rip the breathing tube out because you feel it is choking you, but you are drowning.
“When someone has an infection, I’m used to seeing the normal colors you’d associate with it: greens and yellows. The coronavirus patients with ARDS have been having a lot of secretions that are actually pink because they’re filled with blood cells that are leaking into their airways. They are essentially drowning in their own blood and fluids because their lungs are so full. So we’re constantly having to suction out the secretions every time we go into their rooms.”
I do not want to catch this.
“Before this, we were all joking. It’s grim humor. If you are exposed to the virus and test positive and go on quarantine, you get paid. We were all joking: I want to get the coronavirus because then I get a paid vacation from work. And once I saw these patients with it, I was like, Holy shit, I do not want to catch this and I don’t want anyone I know to catch this.
“I worked a long stretch of days last week, and I watched it go from this novelty to a serious issue. We had one or two patients at our hospital, and then five to 10 patients, and then 20 patients. Every day, the intensity kept ratcheting up. More patients, and the patients themselves are starting to get sicker and sicker. When it first started, we all had tons of equipment, tons of supplies, and as we started getting more patients, we started to run out. They had to ration supplies. At first we were trying to use one mask per patient. Then it was just: You get one mask for positive patients, another mask for everyone else. And now it’s just: You get one mask.
“I work 12-hour shifts. Right now, we are running about four times the number of ventilators than we normally have going. We have such a large volume of patients, but it’s really hard to find enough people to fill all the shifts. The caregiver-to-patient ratio has gone down, and you can’t spend as much time with each patient, you can’t adjust the vent settings as aggressively because you’re not going into the room as often. And we’re also trying to avoid going into the room as much as possible to reduce infection risk of staff and to conserve personal protective equipment.”
Even if you survive ... it can also do long-lasting damage.
“But we are trying to wean down the settings on the ventilator as much as possible, because you don’t want someone to be on the ventilator longer than they need to be. Your risk of mortality increases every day that you spend on a ventilator. The high pressures from high vent settings is pushing air into the lung and can overinflate those little balloons. They can pop. It can destroy the alveoli. Even if you survive ARDS, although some damage can heal, it can also do long-lasting damage to the lungs. They can get filled up with scar tissue. ARDS can lead to cognitive decline. Some people’s muscles waste away, and it takes them a long time to recover once they come off the ventilator.
There is a very real possibility that we might run out of ICU beds and at that point I don’t know what happens if patients get sick and need to be intubated and put on a ventilator. Is that person going to die because we don’t have the equipment to keep them alive? What if it goes on for months and dozens of people die because we don’t have the ventilators?
“Hopefully we don’t get there, but if you only have one ventilator, and you have two patients, you’re going to have to go with the one who has a higher likelihood of surviving. And I’m afraid we’ll get to that point. I’ve heard that’s happening in Italy.”
About This Story: The medical details in this story were vetted by an infectious disease doctor, a cardiologist and an internist at three different hospitals. All of the information about ARDS, the condition that the respiratory therapist describes, was fact-checked against peer-reviewed articles and UpToDate, a resource for physicians to check current standards in care, clinical features, and expected complications and outcomes.

‘Moderate Rebels’ Bite Hand That Feeds Them. 2 Turkish Soldiers Killed In Idlib

Syria entered the second half of the week with a new spike of tensions in Greater Idlib. This escalation has been widely expected because militant groups are sabotaging key parts of the Russian-Turkish agreement on de-escalation in the area.
Radicals kept their positions along the M4 highway, where a security zone was set to be created, and blocked planned joint Russian-Turkish patrols there. On March 19, they expanded their strategy with direct actions against Turkish and Russian forces. At least two improvised explosive devices exploded en route of the Turkish military column near the village of Muhamabal. 2 Turkish soldiers were killed and several others were injured. Opposition sources initially reported that Horas al-Din, one of multiple al-Qaeda-affiliated organizations in Idlib, was behind the attack. Nonetheless, Horas al-Din itself denied responsibility for the incident. There is no surprise that the group indirectly receiving support from Turkey denied such a move. Later, pro-militant media adapted their version of events blaming ISIS cells and even Assad agents. The March 19 developments demonstrated that Ankara does not fully control terrorist organizations that it is protecting from the Syrian Army in an attempt to soldify own influence in the region. Therefore, in some conditions, Turkish-backed terrorists become a threat to Turkey and its forces themselves.

Democrats Will Get OBLITERATED In November Over Blocking Emergency Aid For Political Agenda (Tim Pool)

Democrats Will Get OBLITERATED In November Over Blocking Emergency Aid For Political Agenda. Republicans skipped vacation in order to negotiate an emergency relief bill that would see most Americans get a stimulus check for $1,200.

Democrats ended up blocking the bill after Nancy Pelosi came in with a list of demands in a move that shocked nearly everyone.

It turns out that internally Democrats saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of American desperation to force in agenda items at the expense of the American people.

It goes without saying that at America's most desperate time we should not be playing this kind of politics yet here we are. Normally I'd be reticent to make such accusations but remember that Mitch McConnell skipped his vacation to negotiate this bill only to have it then blocked. That is not good faith on the part of Democrats and the American people should be paying the price for it.

Trump is going to landslide in November and with Joe Biden's disappearance who could argue.

Coronavirus: World Leaders Now In Panic Mode

As the coronavirus outbreak enters the BOOM! phase in a fast-increasing number of countries across the globe, world leaders are scrambling to implement tighter and tougher controls.

Sadly, most of these desperate official actions will be necessary but insufficient.

The time to adopt China's heavy-handed tactics was weeks ago. At this point, the virus' spread is assured; we can only play to slow its rate now.

Which we should. Heart-breaking videos from health care workers show the hard choices being made in overwhelmed hospitals, forced to decide who lives and who dies as each new patient enters the overflowing emergency rooms.

More of this is coming - a lot more - including truly gargantuation fiscal relief packages, in the coming weeks as we ride up, up, up the exponential curve of covid-19 infections.

How well will these extreme actions work? Time will tell.

Right now, we just have to ride out the storm as best we're able.

Note; It seems to me that the official figures out of Wuhan seem to be doctored. The leaked numbers that came out months ago showing 25,000 dead appear to be the accurate number.

Also, people that compare the death numbers world wide to things like car crash victims or the flu are wrong. This new virus has only just got started. Furthermore, efforts are taken to reduce both flu and car crash deaths. Furthermore, if a serial killer is out murdering people, then by this logic we should not worry (or do anything) because the number of dead is small comparable to other things? Obviously his kind of thinking is misguided. Action needs to be taken, especially when millions of people are set to die from this disease.

He is the author of over 21 books and 10 DVDs and has lectured in over 25 countries, speaking live for up to 10 HOURS to huge audiences, filling stadiums like Wembley Arena.

David joins us today to talk about the CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, the worldwide COVID-19 LOCKDOWN, the looming global economic crash and why the CORONAVIRUS is taking a toll on countries such as China, Italy & Spain.

Icke is talking about the world plunging into a 'Hunger Games' society. I'm hoping that things recover after this scare and revert back to 'normal'.  A lot will depend on how severe the virus really is. So far data out of Italy indicates that the virus is a big deal, and not only for older people.

The one thing society does have to fight the cashless Orwellian future is the Internet. The mainstream have effectively lost on this front already. It'll be interesting to see how they try to get around this block to their agenda. Already people are creating ways to preserve and send information with a 'locked down' world wide web.
