Mystery of the Sphinx

Mystery of the Sphinx is a 1993 documentary about the Great Sphinx of Giza. It deals mainly with the conflict between Egyptologists and geologists about the age of the Great Sphinx. It does so by suggesting the Sphinx water erosion hypothesis.

There is evidence that civilisation was more established at the end of the last Ice Age than previously imagined. If sea levels rose rapidly then coastal societies from this time would have been wiped out or severely disrupted.

The direct analysis in this video on Egypt is sound, but the 'connection to Mars' is clearly much more speculative (and unlikely). The producers should have just stuck to Egypt, IMHO.
