Getting Assange: The Untold Story - John Pilger

Julian Assange has been vindicated because the Swedish case against him was corrupt. The prosecutor, Marianne Ny, obstructed justice and should be prosecuted. Her obsession with Assange not only embarrassed her colleagues and the judiciary but exposed the Swedish state’s collusion with the United States in its crimes of war and “rendition”.

Had Assange not sought refuge in the Ecuadorean embassy in London, he would have been on his way to the kind of American torture pit Chelsea Manning had to endure.

This prospect was obscured by the grim farce played out in Sweden.
“It’s a laughing stock,” said James Catlin, one of Assange’s Australian lawyers. “It is as if they make it up as they go along”.
It may have seemed that way, but there was always serious purpose. In 2008, a secret Pentagon document prepared by the “Cyber Counterintelligence Assessments Branch” foretold a detailed plan to discredit WikiLeaks and smear Assange personally.

The “mission” was to destroy the “trust” that was WikiLeaks’ “centre of gravity”. This would be achieved with threats of “exposure [and] criminal prosecution”. Silencing and criminalising such an unpredictable source of truth-telling was the aim.

Perhaps this was understandable. WikiLeaks has exposed the way America dominates much of human affairs, including its epic crimes, especially in Afghanistan and Iraq: the wholesale, often homicidal killing of civilians and the contempt for sovereignty and international law.

These disclosures are protected by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama, a professor of constitutional law, lauded whistle blowers as “part of a healthy democracy [and they] must be protected from reprisal”.

In 2012, the Obama campaign boasted on its website that Obama had prosecuted more whistle blowers in his first term than all other US presidents combined. Before Chelsea Manning had even received a trial, Obama had publicly pronounced her guilty.

Few serious observers doubt that should the US get their hands on Assange, a similar fate awaits him. According to documents released by Edward Snowden, he is on a “Manhunt target list”. Threats of his kidnapping and assassination became almost political and media currency in the US following then Vice-President Joe Biden‘s preposterous slur that the WikiLeaks founder was a “cyber-terrorist”.

Hillary Clinton, the destroyer of Libya and, as WikiLeaks revealed last year, the secret supporter and personal beneficiary of forces underwriting ISIS, proposed her own expedient solution: “Can’t we just drone this guy.”

According to Australian diplomatic cables, Washington’s bid to get Assange is “unprecedented in scale and nature”. In Alexandria, Virginia, a secret grand jury has sought for almost seven years to contrive a crime for which Assange can be prosecuted. This is not easy.

The First Amendment protects publishers, journalists and whistle blowers, whether it is the editor of the New York Times or the editor of WikiLeaks. The very notion of free speech is described as America’s “ founding virtue” or, as Thomas Jefferson called it, “our currency”.

Faced with this hurdle, the US Justice Department has contrived charges of “espionage”, “conspiracy to commit espionage”, “conversion” (theft of government property), “computer fraud and abuse” (computer hacking) and general “conspiracy”. The favoured Espionage Act, which was meant to deter pacifists and conscientious objectors during World War One, has provisions for life imprisonment and the death penalty.

Assange’s ability to defend himself in such a Kafkaesque world has been severely limited by the US declaring his case a state secret. In 2015, a federal court in Washington blocked the release of all information about the “national security” investigation against WikiLeaks, because it was “active and ongoing” and would harm the “pending prosecution” of Assange. The judge, Barbara J. Rothstein, said it was necessary to show “appropriate deference to the executive in matters of national security”. This is a kangaroo court.

For Assange, his trial has been trial by media. On August 20, 2010, when the Swedish police opened a “rape investigation”, they coordinated it, unlawfully, with the Stockholm tabloids. The front pages said Assange had been accused of the “rape of two women”. The word “rape” can have a very different legal meaning in Sweden than in Britain; a pernicious false reality became the news that went round the world.

Less than 24 hours later, the Stockholm Chief Prosecutor, Eva Finne, took over the investigation. She wasted no time in cancelling the arrest warrant, saying,
“I don’t believe there is any reason to suspect that he has committed rape.” Four days later, she dismissed the rape investigation altogether, saying, “There is no suspicion of any crime whatsoever.”
Enter Claes Borgstrom, a highly contentious figure in the Social Democratic Party then standing as a candidate in Sweden’s imminent general election. Within days of the chief prosecutor’s dismissal of the case, Borgstrom, a lawyer, announced to the media that he was representing the two women and had sought a different prosecutor in Gothenberg. This was Marianne Ny, whom Borgstrom knew well, personally and politically.

On 30 August, Assange attended a police station in Stockholm voluntarily and answered the questions put to him. He understood that was the end of the matter. Two days later, Ny announced she was re-opening the case.

At a press conference, Borgstrom was asked by a Swedish reporter why the case was proceeding when it had already been dismissed. The reporter cited one of the women as saying she had not been raped. He replied, “Ah, but she is not a lawyer.”

On the day that Marianne Ny reactivated the case, the head of Sweden’s military intelligence service – which has the acronym MUST — publicly denounced WikiLeaks in an article entitled “WikiLeaks [is] a threat to our soldiers [under US command in Afghanistan]”.

Both the Swedish prime minister and foreign minister attacked Assange, who had been charged with no crime. Assange was warned that the Swedish intelligence service, SAPO, had been told by its US counterparts that US-Sweden intelligence-sharing arrangements would be “cut off” if Sweden sheltered him.

For five weeks, Assange waited in Sweden for the renewed “rape investigation” to take its course. The Guardian was then on the brink of publishing the Iraq “War Logs”, based on WikiLeaks’ disclosures, which Assange was to oversee in London.

Finally, he was allowed him to leave. As soon as he had left, Marianne Ny issued a European Arrest Warrant and an Interpol “red alert” normally used for terrorists and dangerous criminals.

Assange attended a police station in London, was duly arrested and spent ten days in Wandsworth Prison, in solitary confinement. Released on £340,000 bail, he was electronically tagged, required to report to police daily and placed under virtual house arrest while his case began its long journey to the Supreme Court.

He still had not been charged with any offence. His lawyers repeated his offer to be questioned in London, by video or personally, pointing out that Marianne Ny had given him permission to leave Sweden. They suggested a special facility at Scotland Yard commonly used by the Swedish and other European authorities for that purpose. She refused.

For almost seven years, while Sweden has questioned forty-four people in the UK in connection with police investigations, Ny refused to question Assange and so advance her case.

Writing in the Swedish press, a former Swedish prosecutor, Rolf Hillegren, accused Ny of losing all impartiality. He described her personal investment in the case as “abnormal” and demanded she be replaced.
Assange asked the Swedish authorities for a guarantee that he would not be “rendered” to the US if he was extradited to Sweden. This was refused. In December 2010, The Independent revealed that the two governments had discussed his onward extradition to the US.

Contrary to its reputation as a bastion of liberal enlightenment, Sweden has drawn so close to Washington that it has allowed secret CIA “renditions” – including the illegal deportation of refugees. The rendition and subsequent torture of two Egyptian political refugees in 2001 was condemned by the UN Committee against Torture, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch; the complicity and duplicity of the Swedish state are documented in successful civil litigation and in WikiLeaks cables.
-------------------------
The Metropolitan Police say they still intend to arrest Assange for bail infringement should he leave the embassy. What then? A few months in prison while the US delivers its extradition request to the British courts?

If the British Government allows this to happen it will, in the eyes of the world, be shamed comprehensively and historically as an accessory to the crime of a war waged by rampant power against justice and freedom, and all of us.

The Lawyer Bringing The Lawsuit Against The DNC Speaks Out - Redacted Tonight

In this latest episode of Redacted Tonight VIP, Lee Camp talks to Jared Beck, the attorney leading the lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee, and its former leader Debbie Wasserman Schultz, for rigging the 2016 Democratic Primary for Hillary Clinton. Beck goes into detail with Lee about how Bernie Sanders and his supporters got screwed by an organization that, according to court hearings, felt no obligation to be transparent or impartial during the election process. While one would think such a blatant disrespect for the democratic process would get more play in the mainstream media, it's falling on deaf ears. In the second half, Lee Camp gets into the importance of the release of prisoner Chelsea Manning, who was originally sentenced to 35 years for revealing classified information about inhumane behavior in the U.S. military, including the slaughter of innocent civilians. Manning isn't the only one who suffered the worst for revealing the ugly truth about our country. Lee digs into other examples of how our government has made a habit of punishing people whose only mission was to reveal abuses in our society.

"We Did Not Touch On That At All": Lavrov Denies Trump Said "Comey Is A Nut Job"

In the "he said, she said" world of unconfirmed, unsourced political intrigue, on Friday the US went to sleep with fresh news of the latest diplomatic snafu by Trump, when the NYT reported that during his president with the Russian Foreign minister Lavrov on May 10, Donald Trump said that Comey is a "nut job" and that his firing "eased pressure" from the ongoing Russian investigation.

The exchange in question:

"I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”Mr. Trump added, “I’m not under investigation.”

Predictably, the alleged exchange was the only thing on the media's mind during Lavrov's press conference on Saturday, in which the Russian Foreign Minister refuted claims that he had discussed the firing of the former FBI director Comey with President Trump.

The Assault on Trump - Paul Craig Roberts

We are witnessing an assault by the national security state and its liberal media on a President of the United States that is unprecedented.

Wild and unsupported accusations of treasonous or illegal Russian connections have been the mainstay of the news since Trump’s campaign for president. These accusations have reached the point that there is an impeachment movement driven by the national security state and its liberal media and endorsed by Democrats, the American leftwing which has turned against the working class as “Trump deplorables,” and luminaries such as Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe. The Washington Post, which was not present at the meeting of President Trump with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, purports to know that Trump gave Lavrov US national security information.

The Russian government has offered the presstitute media a transcript of the meeting, but, of course, the pressitutes are not interested.

The latest story is that Trump tried to bribe FBI Director Comey, before he fired him, not to investigate Trump as part of the “Russian investigation.” Clearly there is no intelligence left in the American media. The President doesn’t need to bribe someone he can fire.

What we are witnessing is the determination of the national security state to keep their prized “Russian Threat” in its assigned role as the Number One Threat to the US. The liberal media, owned by the CIA since the 1950s is in accord with this goal.

The American media is so accustomed to its enslavement by the national security state that it does not think of the consequences. But Professor Stephen Cohen does. I agree with him that the greatest threat to national security “is this assault on President Trump.” http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/47076.htm

Cohen said that there is a 4th branch of government, the intelligence community, which obstruts the management of American foreign affairs by the executive branch and Congress.

As an example, he reminded us that “In 2016, President Obama worked out a deal with Russian President Putin for military cooperation in Syria. He said he was going to share intelligence with Russia, just like Trump and the Russians were supposed to do the other day. Our department of defense said it wouldn’t share intelligence. And a few days later, they killed Syrian soldiers, violating the agreement, and that was the end of that. So, we can ask, who is making our foreign policy in Washington today?”

In the 1960s, President John F. Kennedy thought he was in charge, and he was assassinated for his belief. JFK blocked an invasion of Cuba, the Northwoods project, a preemptive nuclear strike on the Soviet Union, and spoke of ending the Cold War.

The Truth About The James Comey Memo | President Trump Obstructing Justice? - Molyneux

On February 14th, 2017, President Donald Trump had a meeting with then FBI Director James Comey at the White House in the Oval office. At the time, The New York Times described the meeting as taking “place just a day after Mr. Flynn was forced out of his job after it was revealed he had lied to Vice President Mike Pence about the nature of phone conversations he had had with the Russian ambassador to the United States.”

The New York Times on May 16th, 2017: “President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.”

What is the Truth About The James Comey Memo? Was President Donald Trump obstructing justice or is this just another mainstream media smear campaign?

The key to the Comey hearsay 'memo', according to Molyneux, is that Trump had been told that there was no connection with Flynn and the Russians so that when he stated that he (Flynn) was a good guy and that he hoped Comey would let this go, can be seen as a trivial comment and nothing more.

Molyneux also points out the double standard we had with Obama's comments on various scandals that involved Hillary Clinton and the silence of the press.

Trump’s Plan Finally Becomes Clear. “War is Good for Business”

The first stage of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to restore America’s former dominance as a “manufacturing country” will be announced this coming weekend in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and Washington DC, but its outlines are now already more than clear.

The biggest-ever foreign sale of U.S.-made weaponry will be announced at that time, and, according to a little-noticed report by Reuters on May 12th, an unidentified U.S. government official informed Reuters that “We are in the final stages of a series of deals,” whose size will be of truly extraordinary historic proportions.

Trump will announce during this, his first trip abroad as the U.S. President, starting on Friday May 19th, deals for the fundamentalist-Sunni government of Saudi Arabia to purchase more than $100 billion, and perhaps more even than $300 billion, in U.S.-made weaponry.

The announced intention of Saudi princes is to defeat what they declare to be the ‘existential threat’ they face from Iran and from Shia Islam, and so these weapons will presumably be used for ‘defense’ against the fundamentalist-Shiite government of Iran, and against any nation whose leader is Shiite (even if not fundamentalist, and including non-sectarian and even secular Shiite, such as Syria’s leader Bashar al-Assad, and such as the Houthis in Yemen).

The U.S. (especially the major investors in corporations such as Lockheed Martin) will therefore be in a position to profit from intensification of the wars in Syria and in Yemen, as well as from other national battlefields between Sunni and Shia. That’s the plan, and, on this basis, as soon as Trump won the 2016 election, he appointed to all of his national-security posts people who have solid records as being rabidly hostile, above all, towards Iran, and secondarily, toward Iran’s allies, such as Russia and Syria. (Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton, was hostile, above all, toward Russia; her aim was to conquer it, which would entail unlimited spending on nuclear weapons. Trump’s plan is focused instead on unlimited spending on conventional weapons, and the deal that he has reached with the Sauds is designed specifically to supply them with that — not with nuclear.)

The key international ally of the American government has long been the fundamentalist-Sunni Saudi royal family, the world’s wealthiest family, who own Saudi Arabia, including the world’s largest oil company, Aramco, which is 100% owned by the Saudi government, which is 100% owned by the Saud family, actually by whomever the royal family’s princes select to be the King. No one can be selected by the Saud family to become the King who is disapproved of by the nation’s fundamentalist-Sunni Wahhabist clergy, who have been committed ever since 1744 to eliminating Shia Islam. Israel also is allied with the Saud family. Consequently, on the Sunni side are the U.S. and Israel; and, on the Shiite side are Russia and Syria. Other countries are secondary.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/trumps-plan-finally-becomes-clear-war-is-good-for-business/5590451

And yet Trump said he wants to stop ISIS? Either Trump is a con man or he's been captured on this matter by establishment insiders (he's made some kind of deal). It's hard to make excuses for this kind of behaviour - supporting the Saudis who are essentially the primary backers of the extremist regime change forces in the Middle East.

It seems the US, Saudis and Israelis are partners in destroying their Middle East rivals. A lot of this has to do with controlling oil rather than religion. At the top, the leaders of these countries tend to be corrupt and not genuinely pious.

It seems the outcome for this type of arms deal will require further Russian and Iranian involvement in defending Syria, and the strengthening of ties with Iraq to create a new power block. If a stand is not taken then Iran will be next and Russia and China will be challenged by extremists on their border regions. Perpetual war will migrate to other areas. China must do more to stop the Middle East war agenda from succeeding and act with military support.

Regardless, in the West, harsh measures will be needed to protect civilians from the fall out of the wars. Local authorities will need to stamp out the establishment of extremist Islamist traitors and their supporters, or else long term security will never be achieved. In the Middle East a similar fight by moderate Muslims will be needed. Exposing the US, Saudi, Israeli nexus in all of this will also be important.

Financial Weapons Of Mass Destruction: Top 25 US Banks Have 222 Trillion Dollars Derivatives Exposure

The recklessness of the “too big to fail” banks almost doomed them the last time around, but apparently they still haven’t learned from their past mistakes.  Today, the top 25 U.S. banks have 222 trillion dollars of exposure to derivatives.  In other words, the exposure that these banks have to derivatives contracts is approximately equivalent to the gross domestic product of the United States times twelve.  As long as stock prices continue to rise and the U.S. economy stays fairly stable, these extremely risky financial weapons of mass destruction will probably not take down our entire financial system.  But someday another major crisis will inevitably happen, and when that day arrives the devastation that these financial instruments will cause will be absolutely unprecedented.

During the great financial crisis of 2008, derivatives played a starring role, and U.S. taxpayers were forced to step in and bail out companies such as AIG that were on the verge of collapse because the risks that they took were just too great.

But now it is happening again, and nobody is really talking very much about it.  In a desperate search for higher profits, all of the “too big to fail” banks are gambling like crazy, and at some point a lot of these bets are going to go really bad.  The following numbers regarding exposure to derivatives contracts come directly from the OCC’s most recent quarterly report (see Table 2), and as you can see the level of recklessness that we are currently witnessing is more than just a little bit alarming…

Trump Administration Attempts to Make Benghazi Documents Exempt from Disclosure

Judicial watch President Tom Fitton says his organization filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests pertaining to the Benghazi debacle, specifically in regards to emails that Hillary Clinton received from Fmr. Fitton says that the emails came from Clinton’s system and were not classified, however, the Justice Department and the State Department do not want them out.

“Either way, we want to find out exactly what went on with this classification issue,” the Judicial Watch president said. “But I can tell you it’s disappointing to fight the Trump Administration on this issue.”

Fitton says that he “can’t imagine” that President Trump knows about this issue and feels that it’s likely the deep state acting as a gatekeeper to the info.

“We are getting the pushback from the Justice Department and the State Department being run by appointees of President Trump,” Fitton said. “We are going to fight this in court.”

State Department: Renamed Al-Qaeda Not A Terrorist Organization - Can Receive CIA Supplies

Max Abrams, a professor who works about terrorism, came up with this new definition of "terrorism":
Nonstate actors who use violence against civilians for a political goal and haven't been supported by the US.
The highlighted part is "new" to those who have not learned from history and the many occasions of U.S. support for (typically extremely right-wing) terrorist organizations like the "contras" in Nicaragua, OUN fascists in Ukraine or Jihadi Mujahedin in Afghanistan. It can indeed be argued that the U.S. created al-Qaeda as well as the Islamic State (ISIS).

But lets just be happy that people get again reminded of the issue.

Prof. Adams remark came after a report by the Canadian CBC which found that the U.S. has not designated al-Qaeda's recently renamed organization in Syria as a "foreign terrorist entity".

The U.S. just offered a $10,000,000 reward (official pdf) for Abu Muhammad al-Joulani the founder al Al-Qaeda in Syria (aka Jabhat al-Nusra aka Jabhat Fatah al-Sham). But newly again renamed organization which he leads as the official military commander, the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), is not on any U.S. (and Canadian) terrorist entity list.
-----------------------------------------------------
The non-designation will make it more difficult to prosecute members and supporters of the organization. Donations and other support to HTS are now legal. While Nusra and HTS had claimed to no longer be part of al-Qaeda (but never retracted their oath to it), scholars within those organization frequently argue for publicly admit the connection. No professional working on the issue denies that HTS is part of al-Qaeda. But, apparently, the U.S. State Department does.

The CBC speculates why HTS is not (or no longer) designated:
The reasons for the reluctance to list the new al-Qaeda formation may have to do with one of its new members, the Nour ed-Dine Zenki Brigade, a jihadi group from the Aleppo governorate. The Zenki Brigade was an early and prominent recipient of U.S. aid, weapons and training.
Zenki was cut off by the State Department only after Amnesty International implicated them in killings of Orthodox Christian priests and members posted a video of themselves beheading a young boy.
A different reason seems more likely to me.

Providing material support or resources to designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations is prohibited under 18 U.S. Code § 2339B. Non-designated groups can be supplied and otherwise supported.

As long as HTS is not designated as terrorist group the CIA, and anyone else, can supply it with weapons and money without using any "Free Syrian Army" cut-outs in-between. The cut-out scheme was used and had well worked when many groups like the Zenki Brigade, then hailed as liberating heroes, delivered the CIA supplies as tribute to Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS or fought battles on their side. But the number of FSA groups has dwindled. Many closed shop, fled to Europe, or have joined either al-Nusra (in form of HTS) or the competing Ahrar al-Sham terrorist organization. A direct supply line to al-Qaeda is more convenient and will incur less losses along the way.

As long as HTS is not officially designated it will likely continue to have access to CIA delivered TOW anti-tank missiles and other heavy supplies like artillery munition. It will continue to prepare for new attacks on Syrian government forces and Syrian civilians.

The Truth About Seth Rich | The DNC/Wikileaks Scandal - Molyneux [UPDATED]

On July 10th, 2016, Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer Seth Rich was shot twice and killed near his home in Northwest Washington’s Bloomingdale neighborhood. In August 2016, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange strongly implied that Seth Rich was the source of the Democratic National Committee email leak. Recent reports by Private Investigator Rod Wheeler and Fox News have reignited significant interest in the Seth Rich investigation.

UPDATE: Apparently Rod Wheeler is backtracking on his claims about independently confirming the Seth Rich Wikileaks connections. Is this due to political pressure or was he making up a story the whole time? Nevertheless we have indications from Assange himself showing that Rich was mostly likely the DNC leaker:

Deep State Again Tries to Block Dialogue with Russia: Washington Post’s Phoney Story About Trump’s Leak

Washington Post story Trump leaked 'classified information' to Lavrov is phoney and a further attempt to prevent a meaningful dialogue between the US and Russia.

The Washington Post story about President Trump’s supposed leak of highly classified intelligence information about ISIS to the Russians is a case study of the lengths to which the President’s enemies are prepared to go in order to discredit him and to stop any chance of a rapprochement with Russia.

Briefly, the Washington Post claims that Trump told Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and the Russians during his recent meeting with them in the Oval Office information about an alleged plot by ISIS to carry out attacks on passenger aircraft using laptops. The Washington Post describes Trump’s supposed wrongdoing in this way
President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State.
The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.
The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.
“This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”…..
One day after dismissing Comey, Trump welcomed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak — a key figure in earlier Russia controversies — into the Oval Office. It was during that meeting, officials said, that Trump went off script and began describing details of an Islamic State terrorist threat related to the use of laptop computers on aircraft…..
For almost anyone in government, discussing such matters with an adversary would be illegal. As president, Trump has broad authority to declassify government secrets, making it unlikely that his disclosures broke the law.
White House officials involved in the meeting said Trump discussed only shared concerns about terrorism.
The existence of an alleged ISIS plot to use laptops to bring down passenger aircraft has been all over the media for months. That cannot therefore have been the “highly classified information” that President Trump is supposed to have discussed.

It turns out that the “highly classified information” that Trump is supposed to have disclosed is the name of the city where the alleged ISIS plot was discovered. That supposedly compromised the source of the information, which presumably means the intelligence agency which provided it.

--------------------------------------------------
The essence of the story – that Trump leaked “highly classified information” to Lavrov and the Russians in a way that does harm or potential harm to US national security – has been emphatically denied by Donald Trump’s highly regarded (perhaps over-regarded) National Security Adviser General H.R. McMaster, as well as by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and by other officials
Here is a video of General McMaster commenting on the story. Here is a transcript of what he said
There’s nothing that the President takes more seriously than the security of the American people. The story that came out tonight, as reported, is false. The President and the [Russian] Foreign Minister [Sergey Lavrov] reviewed a range of common threats to our two counties, including threats to civil aviation. At no time – at no time – were intelligence sources or methods discussed. And the President did not disclose any military operations that were not already publicly known. Two other senior officials who were present, including the Secretary of State, remember it being the same way and have said so. Their on-the-record accounts should outweigh those of anonymous sources. And I was in the room. It didn’t happen.”
The Washington Post says McMaster’s statement is a “non-denial denial”, ie. a statement which does not actually deny the story the Washington Post has published whilst giving the false impression of doing so. Is that however so?

Firstly, since this is a discussion about classified information there were obvious constraints on what General McMaster could say. He could not go into the detail of the Washington Post’s story without compounding the damage the Washington Post’s publication of the story has quite possibly already done and without breaking the law.

Secondly, General McMaster has nonetheless unequivocally said that “the story as reported is false”.

Thirdly, General McMaster has made the point that he was physically present in the room when the conversation between Trump and Lavrov took place and that – unlike the ‘anonymous sources’ the Washington Post is relying upon – he is speaking publicly and on the record.

In any sane world statements made publicly and on the record should always be given greater credence than statements made secretly and anonymously. In any matter involving Trump or Russia the reverse is true. This story is a case in point.

So what is General McMaster denying?

There is no doubt that President Trump did share with the Russians information about an alleged ISIS plot against passenger aircraft using laptops. General McMaster says as much, and President Trump has just admitted it.

However as President Trump has correctly said – and as the Washington Post grudgingly admits – as President Trump was fully within his rights to do this. Here is what Trump himself has tweeted today about all of this
As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining….
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 16, 2017

…to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 16, 2017

And here is what the Washington Post has said about it
For almost anyone in government, discussing such matters with an adversary would be illegal. As president, Trump has broad authority to declassify government secrets, making it unlikely that his disclosures broke the law.
(bold italics added)

If the fact that Trump shared information with the Russians about an ISIS plot against passenger aircraft using laptops is not disputed, and if his right to do so is not disputed either, it is the interpretation of his doing it given by the Washington Post which McMaster, Tillerson and the other senior administration officials are disputing. That is what McMaster means when he says that “the story as reported is false”.

When world leaders meet they regularly exchange information with each other. If they did not do so diplomatic contacts would be devoid of all content and would grind to a stop.

In this case Trump told Lavrov of a supposed plot by ISIS to use laptops against passenger aircraft. Trump says he did this in order to get Russia’s help in the fight against ISIS. There is nothing unusual or untoward about this, and nothing unusual about Trump telling the Russians some of the details of the plot. It beggars belief that Trump doing this was in any way sinister or dangerous or a threat to national security or risks any of the consequences the Washington Post alleges. Had it done so Trump’s aides who were present at the meeting – General McMaster first and foremost – would have intervened immediately to stop him doing it. That after all is their job.

A former US intelligence officer Michael Pregent has explained the position clearly
But some former intelligence officials think the repercussions from the Oval Office meeting will be minimal, if any.
“No damage – no sources or methods revealed,” said Michael Pregent, a former intelligence officer now with the Hudson Institute, a Washington think tank.
Pregent, who worked with McMaster in Iraq, said it is unlikely the national security adviser would have allowed the president to cross any lines.
Instead, Pregent sees an opportunity to have turned the Russian visit to the White House to Washington’s advantage.
“Sharing this info with the Russians calls them on their inaction against ISIS in Syria,” he said.
In other words no harm was done and the President and his officials were doing nothing more than engaging in normal diplomacy.

The Washington Post story itself all but admits this. As I have said, if Trump sharing information with the Russians really did have the potentially serious national security consequences the Washington Post alleges, then the Washington Post and the ‘anonymous current and former officials’ who were its sources for the story have massively and irresponsibly compounded the damage by telling the world about it. That they did so in fact shows that no harm was done, and that they know it.

Which brings us to the real point of this story.

Ever since Trump met Lavrov in the Oval Office there has been a concerted attempt by the mainstream media and some US politicians to cast the meeting in the most sinister light.

Did Wash Post Publish Dubious Russia Story to Distract From Seth Rich Bombshell?

The Washington Post published its dubious story on President Trump leaking classified information to the Russians less than an hour after the bombshell news broke that murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich was in contact with Wikileaks and that DC Police were ordered to cover it up.

The coincidental timing has led many Trump supporters to accuse the Post of publishing their story in an attempt to distract the rest of the media from focusing on the massive new revelations in the Seth Rich case.

Report: Slain DNC staffer was in contact with WikiLeaks (Fox News)

The Washington Post story was published around 57 minutes after the Seth Rich story broke.

Rich was murdered in an upscale area of Washington DC on June 8 last year but the killer or killers did not steal anything from the victim, rendering the police’s explanation that the incident was a robbery gone wrong doubtful.

Infowars reported on the questions surrounding Seth Rich’s murder multiple times back in August last year, including how there was around an hour and a half of “unaccounted for” time between Rich leaving a bar and being killed.

Brad Bauman, a crisis communications manager for the Democratic Party, was hired by RIch’s family to act as their spokesman.

Bauman’s first action was to insist that people stop questioning the unsolved circumstances behind Rich’s murder.

Speculation later raged as to whether Rich was trying to get in contact with the FBI to speak to agents about an “ongoing court case” involving the Clintons.

During a subsequent television interview in August, Wikileaks Julian Assange appeared to confirm that Rich was the source for the DNC leak, dismantling the claim that Russia was responsible for the leak.

James Comey Memo Claims Trump Pressured Him to End Michael Flynn Investigation - Styx

Worrying but, is it even true?

The Comey firing came right after he admitted that classified State Department emails had been transferred between Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner and that he (Comey) wasn't going to act. Such a transparent obstruction of justice couldn't stand and was likely the (final) reason for his firing. Comey was transparently corrupt. The allegations of Russia-Trump collusion and cover-up is just a smoke screen for the DNC email crimes and a way of stopping Trump's Administration from mending bridges with the Putin Administration.

If Trump really wants to Make America Great Again he needs to purge the system of as many establishment crooks as he legally can, unleash the DoJ to investigate the Washington paedophile networks, and continue in such a manner. His replacement picks need to include upstanding activist types, people with integrity from both sides of politics, like Ron Paul or Cynthia McKinney, and he needs to protect these people with 24 hour security while the DoJ cleans house as much as it can. They also need to purge Washington of lobbyists.

Ultimately everything in Washington needs to become ultra transparent, with live camera feeds of people visiting politicians, 24 disclosure rules, and such things. Each State needs to enact similar systems. People in Government should never be trusted and now we have the technology to monitor their activities. There will be ways around such measures, but aiming towards such transparency goals would be a good start.

Did John Podesta Kill Seth Rich?
Murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich was in contact with Wikileaks before his unsolved murder [sending 44,000 emails], according to an anonymous FBI source, who claims Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, an American investigative reporter and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time. It is also known that John Podesta threatened to make an example out of Wikileaks leakers in his party, right before the murder of suspected DNC leaker Seth Rich. The political establishment and mainstream media have denied involvement from the Democrat party, but many questions remain given Podesta and Clinton's possible motive, and the suspicious details of the murder.

The Truth About the Syrian Prison Crematorium (it's Fake News)- Whatreallyhappened.com

In a comment appearing at Whatreallyhappened.com , Mike Rivero pointed out that known examples of crematoriums have large smoke stacks in order to expel the heat and smell. The reported prison crematorium in Syria, that is allegedly being used to hide a massacre of prisoners, has no such smoke stack. The US is claiming that melted snow on the roof backs up earlier claims of a genocide. Without any real evidence, the melted snow on the roof of the building could be an indicator of a kitchen or laundry area:

The big problem with what is going on here is that the Mainstream Media is uncritically repeating this propaganda along with groups like Amnesty International, thereby providing support for further western intervention. If the US strikes at the Syrian Government they will effectively be helping ISIS.

Moon of Alabama also debunked this crematory story:

Back in February Amnesty International (which promotes NATO interventions) issued a shoddy report about alleged killings in Syrian prisons. As we wrote at that time:
A new Amnesty International report claims that the Syrian government hanged between 5,000 and 13,000 prisoners in a military prison in Syria. The evidence for that claim is flimsy, based on hearsay of anonymous people outside of Syria. The numbers themselves are extrapolations that no scientist or court would ever accept. It is tabloid reporting and fiction style writing from its title "Human Slaughterhouse" down to the last paragraph.
...
The U.S. State Department now reused that fake report and adds false interpreteted satellite pics to further slander the Syrian government:

US: Syria is burning bodies to hide proof of mass killings
In its latest accusations of Syrian abuses, the State Department said it believed about 50 detainees each day are being hanged at Saydnaya military prison, about 45 minutes north of Damascus. Many of the bodies are then burned in the crematorium "to cover up the extent of mass murders taking place," said Stuart Jones, the top U.S. diplomat for the Middle East, accusing Assad's government of sinking "to a new level of depravity." The department released commercial satellite photographs showing what it described as a building in the prison complex that was modified to support the crematorium. The photographs, taken over the course of several years, beginning in 2013, do not prove the building is a crematorium, but show construction consistent with such use.
If there was a crematorium being build in the Saydnaya prison how is it that none of the Amnesty witness said so in the recent Amnesty report? These witnesses, Amnesty claims, have been in that prison and observed all kind of details. They claim that any dead were buried in mass graves.

A Dutch military expert looks at the commercial satellite pictures and the interpretation State provided and asks:
Ian Grant‏ @Gjoene - 6:02 PM - 15 May 2017 Is this a joke @StateDept? Even before 27 Aug '13 these "vents" were present. See included Terraserver footage (03 april '13) #Sednaya
Another reconnaissance specialist expands on that:
Aldin Abazović @CT_operative - 5:33 PM - 15 May 2017 Pictures that allegedly show crematorium of Saidnaya prison, #Damascus #Syria. As much as I hate to get involved into this matter, these #1
#2 images prove nothing at all. This building could be simple boiler/heating room for the prison compound. Unless you visit there is no
#3 way to prove anything. Its easy to manipulate with satellite imagery. You just put the right label on thing and there you have it
#4 I can't confirm what the particular part of prison is nor for what it's used.
The State Department is throwing dirt at the Syria government in the hope that some of it will stick. This release of nothing will create some headlines in "western" outrage publications. It may be in preparation for a wider war on Syria.

Germany Views Jordan as Alternative for Troop Relocation From Turkey's Incirlik (A Split in NATO from Islamist Turkey)

Germany will continue searching for an alternative to relocate its troops stationed at Turkey’s Incirlik airbase to neighboring countries, such as Jordan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Monday.

BERLIN (Sputnik) – German-Turkish links were tested by the arrest, February 27, of Deniz Yucel, a German-Turkish journalist working for Die Welt newspaper.

He was arrested and detained on charges of supporting a terrorist organization and inciting public violence.

The situation worsened when German authorities banned pro-Erdogan demonstrations in Germany in the run-up to the referendum. Germany has a significant Turkish population which Erdogan was keen to ensure voted in favor of the controversial referendum.

Both Germany and Turkey are
NATO members, with the alliance making much use of Turkish assets for its Middle East operations — particularly the airbase at Incirlik in southern Turkey.

REVEALED: The True Conspiracy To Kill Martin Luther King Jr.

In this latest episode of Redacted Tonight VIP, Lee Camp talks with Dr. William Pepper, an attorney and author of the recent book, “The Plot to Kill King” in which Pepper presents evidence that it wasn’t in fact James Earl Ray who assassinated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis in 1968. Pepper, an attorney who interrogated Ray a decade after King’s death, tells Lee who the real players are behind the shooting. While there was still one shooter, there was a bevy of co-conspirators, including state and federal government officials, who plotted the details of how Ray, who died in 1998, would become the fall guy in an assassination that would spark riots all across urban America. On behalf of King’s family, Pepper brought a civil action suit in 1999 against those involved in King’s death, bringing evidence before the courts that was never brought before the state 30 years earlier—including Ray’s alibi that placed him far from the crime scene. Dr. Pepper’s investigation was not without criticism. Despite violent threats to Dr. Pepper’s family and being lambasted by the mainstream media, the details of his private investigation leave you with no choice but to second guess everything you thought you knew about a death that was a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

North Korea Panic: Media Hysteria Over New Missile Test

The latest North Korean ballistic missile test has prompted international concern and condemnation. Pyongyang claims that it was a new type of rocket - that can carry a heavy nuclear warhead.

None of the neighbouring countries want war here, including North Korea. The consequences of war would see the destruction of Seoul and of North Korea as a whole. The biggest problem is from false flags and misunderstandings that could lead to a limited confrontation (exchange of fire). Perhaps the most significant outcome from all this sabre rattling will be support for new defence spending.

British IT expert, 22, who lives with his parents reveals how he stopped the global cyber attack that wreaked havoc on the NHS as he warns he is already fighting hackers trying to unleash a NEW threat

The UK blogger who discovered a 'kill switch' that has slowed the spread of a virus wreaking havoc across the globe has revealed that the world is facing a fresh cyber attack from malicious hackers who are trying to sabotage the fix.

The 22-year-old 'accidental hero' - who lives at home in the south of England with his mother and father - spotted a loophole in the code that meant he could block the virus.

He says he inadvertently halted the ransomware just hours after hearing news of a cyber attack on the NHS while out for lunch with a friend while on a week off from his job at an information security company.

But speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the anonymous computer security expert revealed that cyber attackers are working to bring down the 'emergency stop' which is halting the virus from spreading in a bid to infect millions more across the globe.

Mike Rivero's insight (from Whatreallyhappened.com) into this internet hacking incident is worth noting:
So, a single 22-year old was able to do what the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. could NOR do?!? Does that mean the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. are hopelessly inept? Or is WannaCry part of an operation to cripple the internet ahead of some grand was escalation? Or were NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. just stealing some party cash for themselves? Or all of the above?
