‘Status of President Assad to be Decided by Syrian People’ – Tillerson During his Visit to Turkey

The U.S. Secretary of State has signalled a major U-turn in Washington's policy on Syria, which has long been a bone of contention between America and Russia. Rex Tillerson's statement didn't get a response from his Turkish counterpart in Ankara. However, this new stance set out by Washington could become a stumbling block in relations between the U.S. and Turkey as Ankara has never expressed sympathy for the Syrian president. The comments were made during the U.S. Secretary of State's first official visit to Turkey.

The only saving grace for the present US military (overt) intervention in Syria is that they are targeting ISIS. The US and Turkey have intervened in Syria illegally. Their forces must be withdrawn. Sanctions must also be applied to the Gulf State sponsors of the terrorist armies.
