The Truthseeker: Ukraine Gangster State Calls for 'Nuclear Strikes'

Parliament moves to quit Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; Nazis 'regular reconnaissance visits to nuclear power stations'; Billionaire governor, whose Privatbank is top recipient of new IMF bailout, being placed on international wanted list for 'banned methods of warfare and aggravated murder'.

The IMF is looting Ukraine on behalf corrupt murderous elites inside and outside of the country at the expense of the people. President Poroshenko is part of the process being crook himself. Once again the game being played comes down to stealing money and gaining power.

This is a very good episode that deals with the corrupt players connected to the Kiev Government and their association to the USA.

With crazed neo-Nazis running around Ukraine showing an interest in nuclear facilities plus bioweapons, the entire region is under threat.

What Truce? Kiev 'National Guard' Lose 20 in Attack on Slavyansk During Ceasefire

Ukraine's President and the self-proclaimed eastern republics have extended the ceasefire until Monday - just hours before it was set to expire. Meanwhile overnight exchanges of fire near the city of Slavyansk have left casualties on both sides of the conflict.

The Kiev administration, still populated with neo nazis, is unlikely to give up on their military ambitions in the east.

For the final thirty minutes of regular broadcast David and Gerald Celente discuss the efforts of global interests to take over the economy of America, Crash society and bring about a new class of slave minded individuals that do not question their government.

Celente covers the Trends journal accurate predictions about Iraq, juxtaposing it with the neocon 'mistakes' (lies) and the fact these neocon are now reappearing on TV pushing for more war while, at the same time, the business establishment is firmly against such actions.

The USA, entangled in conflict throughout Middle East, is suffering a severe recession/depression and ordinary people, including business leaders, are on their last legs. Enough is enough.

Keiser Report (E620): Russell Brand Talks Revolution with Max & Stacy

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert are joined in the first half by Russell Brand to talk about the austerity headlines. They chat about the UK government's expanding debt and growing deficit, despite the alleged austerity and GDP expanding thanks to heroin addiction and prostitution. Russell learns about the water cannons bought for use against anti-austerity protests which the government itself will stoke. Finally, they talk about the people revolting as they must do when the social contract has been broken: and crypto currencies are one of the most visible revolts. In the second half, Max interviews Russell Brand further about his independent media outlet - The Trews; they discuss revolution and spiritual journeys.

WHO Calls Urgent 11-Nation Meeting on Ebola

The World Health Organisation has called an 11-nation meeting to address what it considers to be the deadliest Ebola outbreak on record.

The UN agency warned on Thursday that dramatic steps were needed as the number of deaths from the virus continued to rise in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The agency was now "gravely concerned by the on-going cross-border transmission into neighbouring countries as well as the potential for further international spread," said WHO's regional director for Africa, Dr Luis Sambo.

The WHO has sent in more than 150 experts to help tackle the crisis.

But despite the efforts of the WHO and other international aid organisation, there had been a "significant increase" in the number of cases and deaths reported each day for the past three weeks, it said.

Apparently the virus, which is relatively difficult to transmit, has a 16 day incubation period giving it an advantage when it comes to avoiding early detection. Closing borders for a few months in the affected region should be undertaken.

The Fall of Iraq - What You Aren't Being Told (RECAP)

Iraq is descending into chaos, but not for the reasons you're being fed by the politicians and the mainstream media.

The first video postulates that the 'solution' to the US facilitated ISIS crisis will be air strikes into Iraq and Syria (aiming to undermine Assad).

At the time of writing (see vid below) it appears that Obama's solution is geared at arming the 'moderate rebels' in Syria - which if successful in overthrowing Assad, will leave the country open to attack by the extremists, who are the more powerful fighting force anyway.

My thoughts are that the US will not seriously damage ISIS in Iraq and use it to attack Syria in force at a later date.

USS Liberty: Are We “Conspiracy Theorists” or “USS Liberty Truthers”?

A while back I learned of a Jon Faine radio interview in which former Australia Prime Minister Malcom Fraser mentioned that he has concluded that the attack on the USS Liberty was deliberate.
Within that interview Faine trots out the oft-used “Conspiracy Theorist” pejorative and since it is improperly applied with regard to the USS Liberty I set out to let him know.

I emailed his radio station asking for Faine’s email address so I could share my opinion.
He replied with his personal email address and invited me to send him a comment.

So I did.
Thank you for your kindness in responding to my enquiry. It is a courtesy not extended by all.
My concern is not about the attack on our ship or how it was described but in your apparent lumping all who opine that the attack was deliberate and premeditated as “conspiracy theorists” – a descriptor that over the years has taken on a decidedly negative connotation.
Let me be clear. Anyone who researches the attack on our ship is perfectly within their right to reach their conclusions based upon whatever evidence they deem to be appropriate.
So are we.
We have researched the evidence of the attack and have concluded that it was deliberate and premeditated.
We saw the unmarked aircraft; we heard the jamming of our radios on both US Navy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies; we witnessed the deliberate machine gunning of life rafts we had dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship; we witnessed the slow circling of our ship by Israeli torpedo boats as they fired from close range at crewmen who were either trapped topside or who ventured topside to help their wounded shipmates; we saw the Israeli helicopters filled with armed assault troops hover very close to our ship in an apparent attempt to find a place to allow those troops to rappel down to the ship; we witnessed the torpedo boats immediate departure from the scene of the attack after cessation of hostilities instead of offering assistance as is their obligation under international law.
We have also learned that testimony from eye witnesses about the deliberate machine gunning of our life rafts in the water has been removed from the record of the US Navy Court of Inquiry Report; that Findings of Fact in the US Navy Court of Inquiry Report are not supported by evidence and testimony in the record as is required by the rules that govern Courts of Inquiry; that there is nothing in the Court of Inquiry Report about the recall of two flights of rescue aircraft on orders from The White House; that statements provided to the Court by some 65 USS Liberty crewmen have disappeared; that the endorsement by the Court’s Presiding Officer was conditional and based on information then available to the Court; that the responsibility for the review of the US Navy Court of Inquiry Report in preparation of submitting it for endorsement by the Convening Authority (ADM John S. McCain) was removed from McCain’s Legal Advisor, Capt. Merlin Staring, when Staring found a myriad of significant mistakes committed by the Court, told McCain that his review would take a considerable amount of time and that he refused to conduct the requested cursory examination of the Report for McCain’s endorsement.
We also know that the attack on our ship is the only attack of its kind in US naval history NOT to be the subject of a Congressional investigation ...

The author of this letter is a survivor from the deliberate Israeli attack. Jon Faine's comments about the USS Liberty incident are without solid foundation, being based of official misinformation and unfounded rhetoric.

Would Israel Kill the Three Settlers to Crush Palestinian Unity?

Three Israeli settlers are missing, allegedly kidnapped in Al-Khalil (Hebron). But there seems to be more here than a simple kidnapping.

Israel is engaged in a frenzy of retaliation, killings, mass arrests, a reign of terror across lands they illegally occupy, a pattern of war crimes, inhuman abuses, also not atypical of what we have seen so often from Israel.

Nothing about this “kidnapping” makes sense. No demands have been made, no “proof of life” sent.

It is highly unlikely that these young people will be found alive and, based on the behavior of Israel, it quite likely seems that this was the idea all along.

The likelihood that Israel has chosen a “blood sacrifice” to sustain their obsession with "national victimhood” has to be considered.

When you have a group of individuals in charge that do not value human life, particularly when it comes to achieving strategic goals, such a scenario is always a likely possibility.

Iraq’s Depleted Uranium Threat

The ongoing refusal by the United States to release targeting information continues to hinder the assessment and management of DU in Iraq. The Dutch military contributed a few thousand troops to the Coalition Forces in Iraq, and peacekeepers in Kosovo, and raised alarms over contamination in 2001 and 2006.

A handful of U.S. targeting coordinates held by the Dutch Ministry of Defense, and released after a Freedom of Information Act request, show that U.S. war planes used DU weapons against a far wider range of targets and sites than previously suspected, including Iraqi troops. The U.S. and British governments have long asserted that DU is only for use against armored vehicles. They have often been called “tank busters.”

Depleted Uranium, a by-product of uranium enrichment for reactor fuel and H-bombs, is categorized as an intermediate-level radioactive waste; contaminated rubble and scrap metal are considered low-level radioactive waste. The Dutch study finds that international guidelines for dealing with both kinds of waste ¾ from the International Commission on Radiological Protection ¾ were ignored and that the Iraqi government did not have the technical capacity to safely manage such contamination.

Unlike anti-personnel landmines and other explosive remnants of war, no treaty currently obliges DU users to help clean-up after the war. However, civil radiation protection standards place the responsibility firmly at the foot of the polluters.

Low estimates suggest that at least 440,000 kilograms (488 tons) of DU was fired by the United States in both Gulf Wars in 1991 and 2003. Civilians living near contaminated sites, scrap-yard workers, Iraqi doctors and researchers have repeatedly voiced concerns over the effects of DU on health and the environment.

Hans von Sponeck, a former UN Assistant Secretary General and UN humanitarian co√∂rdinator for Iraq, told the Guardian last October, “There is definitive evidence of an alarming rise in birth defects, leukemia, cancer and other carcinogenic diseases in Iraq after the war.”

A New Recession and a New World Devoid of Washington’s Arrogance? — Paul Craig Roberts

A final number for real US GDP growth in the first quarter of 2014 was released today. The number is not the 2.6% growth rate predicted by the know-nothing economists in January of this year. The number is a decline in GDP of -2.9 percent.

The negative growth rate of -2.9 percent is itself an understatement. This number was achieved by deflating nominal GDP with an understated measure of inflation. During the Clinton regime, the Boskin Commission rigged the inflation measure in order to cheat Social Security recipients out of their cost-of-living adjustments. Anyone who purchases food, fuel, or anything knows that inflation is much higher than the officially reported number.

It is possible that the drop in first quarter real GDP is three times the official number.
Regardless, the difference is large between the January forecast of +2.6 percent growth and the decline as of the end of March of -2.9 percent.
Any economist who is real and unpaid by Wall Street, the government, or the Establishment knew that the +2.6 percent forecast was a crock. Americans’ incomes have not grown except for the one percent, and the only credit growth is in student loans, as those many who cannot find jobs mistakenly turn to “education is the answer.” In an economy based on consumer demand, the absence of income and credit growth means no economic growth.
The US economy cannot grow because corporations pushed by Wall Street have moved the US economy offshore. US manufactured products are made offshore. Look at the labels on your clothes, your shoes, your eating and cooking utensils, your computers, whatever. US professional jobs such as software engineering have been moved offshore. An economy with an offshored economy is not an economy. All of this happened in full view, while well-paid free market shills declared that Americans were benefiting from giving America’s middle class jobs to China and India.

I have been exposing these lies for a decade or two, which is why I am no longer invited to speak at American universities or to American economic associations. Economists love the money that they receive for lying. A truth teller is the last thing that they want in their midst.

Great article - go to the link to read the rest of Dr Roberts' scathing critique.

Global Warming 'Fabricated' by NASA and NOAA

Scientists at two of the world’s leading climate centres - NASA and NOAA - have been caught out manipulating temperature data to overstate the extent of the 20th century "global warming".

The evidence of their tinkering can clearly be seen at Real Science, where blogger Steven Goddard has posted a series of graphs which show "climate change" before and after the adjustments.

When the raw data is used, there is little if any evidence of global warming and some evidence of global cooling. However, once the data has been adjusted - ie fabricated by computer models - 20th century 'global warming' suddenly looks much more dramatic.

The problem for the general population and scientists is that we cannot tell if the Earth is heating up from local weather phenomena. At the moment the Antarctic has record ice levels, whereas the northern ice cap is far from its recent historical average.

There are only a few institutions that collate the global data and release to the public the overall picture - which appears to have been rigged in favour of a dramatic warming trend.

For more analysis on the trickery visit WattsUpWithThat which is linked to this blog at the top right hand corner.

Nevertheless, our civilisation must remove itself from pollution causing means of producing energy - and that includes present nuclear power reactors.

Jailing Journalists and Justifiable Mistrust of the Al Jazeera Network - a letter to the Triple J Radio 'Hack' Program.

Most of the coverage concerning the recent jailing of three Al Jazeera journalists in Egypt leaves out the fact that the Qatar-based network has a reputation of state-aligned bias. The station, in many ways, can be considered as a propaganda arm of Qatar Government policies.

The following email is a response sent to the Australian "Hack" Radio program (24/6) that dealt with the jailings:

Although the court case against the three Al Jazeera journos was farcical Hack should be aware of the wider political situation beyond a simple anti-dissent stratagem.

The threat of Al Jazeera, as a propaganda arm of the Qatar Government, is seen as a real and present threat to the current Egyptian Government. This may have contributed to the harsh sentence.
The thinking behind this view comes from the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood supported the proxy war in Syria (see here also) that involves countries that include Qatar.

Moreover, Al Jazeera has misreported and fudged facts in relation to this [Syrian] conflict, portraying much of the fighting as being a justified battle by the majority of the population against a small tyrannical Central Government. Moderate fighters arriving from overseas, in the early years of the fighting found that the lead fighting units consisted of extremists and that much of the country supported the Assad Government - even moderate Sunnis.

Al Jazeera has also misreported on events in Bahrain and Kuwait where, along with the western media, they covered up anti-Government protests that were brutally repressed.

Contrary to the claims made by your Al Jazeera guest, there is a strong bias coming from that media network. A whole host of their reporters and producers have resigned in recent years because of this bias (Google it). I'm sure the Egyptian authorities are aware of Al Jazeera's record, and see them as a tool for the Qatar Government, which were on the same pro-extremist side as the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria.

REPORT: 22 Staffers Resign At Al-Jazeera Over Claims Of Biased Coverage In Egypt

As the crisis unfolds in Egypt, Al Jazeera appears to be straining to appear neutral.

According to an article in Gulf News, 22 members of staff have resigned due to the Qatar-based network’s coverage. Anchor Karem Mahmoud reportedly said that those who resigned quit after “biased coverage” of the events in Egypt, and that the group had been ordered to favour the ousted Muslim Brotherhood other the newly formed, military-backed government.

In an interview with Cairo Scene, Mahmoud explained his rationale:

The coverage over the last few weeks was the tipping point – especially the airing of extreme speeches over the last few days, which have added to the crisis Egypt is seeing right now. There has been a strong insistence of airing unacceptable statements by some parties, as well giving much more space and air time to one group over another.

Daily News Egypt earlier reported that two anchors have resigned from the station, including 10 year veteran reporter Hegag Salama, who reportedly told a Cairo-based TV station that Al Jazeera had “become an enemy of Egypt.”

Missing Israeli Settlers: Al Jazeera English’s Distorted Reporting

Al Jazeera English’s reporting on the missing Israeli settlers was not naive and it is rather impossible to classify it as part of the rhetoric of neutrality and objective reporting on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

It is simply deliberate coverage that targets the Palestinians’ presence on their own land and their just cause, while giving leverage to the “perseverance” of the Israeli society living in a jungle of “barbaric” Palestinians. Al Jazeera English correspondent Jane Ferguson started her report a few days ago by focusing on the feelings of Israelis and specifically their shock following the [alleged] capture of three Israelis about 10 days ago.

This shock, of course, did not not originate from the Palestinians’ right to face their enemies, but was ignited due to the Palestinians’ insensitivity, which was displayed through their “kidnapping of three teenagers” who could be robbed of their lives with a fatal bullet, or rather “a deceiving” bullet in the words of the Qatari channel.

Certainly, all the misery the Palestinians have suffered for 66 years at the hands of those expressing their shock is insignificant. Today, the only thing that matters is the sorrow of the Israeli people.

Ferguson began her report with images of a tent erected by residents of Nof Ayalon village to pray for the safe return of Naftali Fraenkel, a town native and one of the three [allegedly] kidnapped individuals.

Ferguson did not miss the opportunity to remind viewers that the three Israelis (Naftali Frenkel, Gil-ad Shaer and Eyal Yifrach) were teenagers, further seeking the viewers’ compassion by stating that they were all under the age of 19. The reporter did not stop there, but gave Fraenkel’s aunt a platform to express her feelings on air, saying “I am still in shock, it is hitting me repeatedly, Fraenkel went to school and didn’t come back. It is really difficult, and the whole family is crushed.”

The correspondent’s report does not mention neither the suffering of over 5,700 Palestinians held in the occupation’s prisons, nor the fact that four of those prisoners died under physical and psychological torture in the past year.

Splitting up Iraq - It’s all for Israel

“It is no longer plausible to argue that ISIS was a result of unintentional screw ups by the US. It is a clear part of a US strategy to break up the Iran-Iraq-Syria-Hezbollah alliance. Now that strategy may prove to be a total failure and end up backfiring, but make no mistake, ISIS IS the strategy.”
- Lysander, Comments line, Moon of Alabama
“US imperialism has been the principal instigator of sectarianism in the region, from its divide-and-conquer strategy in the war and occupation in Iraq, to the fomenting of sectarian civil war to topple Assad in Syria. Its cynical support for Sunni Islamist insurgents in Syria, while backing a Shiite sectarian regime across the border in Iraq to suppress these very same forces, has brought the entire Middle East to what a United Nations panel on Syria warned Tuesday was the “cusp of a regional war.”
- Bill Van Auken, Obama orders nearly 300 US troops to Iraq, World Socialist Web Site
Barack Obama is blackmailing Nouri al-Maliki by withholding military support until the Iraqi Prime Minister agrees to step down. In other words, we are mid-stream in another regime change operation authored by Washington. What’s different about this operation, is the fact that Obama is using a small army of jihadi terrorists –who have swept to within 50 miles of Baghdad–to hold the gun to Mr. al Maliki’s head. Not surprisingly, al Maliki has refused to cooperate which means the increasingly-tense situation could explode into a civil war.
Let’s assume that we’re correct in our belief that the administration has set its sites on four main strategic objectives in Iraq:

1–Removing al Maliki
2–Gaining basing rights via a new Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)
3–Rolling back Iran’s influence in the region
4–Partitioning the country

How does the US benefit from achieving these goals?

The US has plenty of military bases and installations spread around the Middle East. It gains nothing by having another in Iraq. The same goes for removing al Maliki. There’s no telling how that could turn out. Maybe good, maybe bad. It’s a roll of the dice. Could come up snake-eyes, who knows? But, one thing is certain; it will further erode confidence in the US as a serious supporter of democracy. No one is going to believe that fable anymore. (Al Maliki just won the recent election.)
As for “rolling back Iran’s influence in the region”: That doesn’t even make sense. It was the United States that removed the Sunni Baathists from power and deliberately replaced them with members from the Shia community. As we’ve shown in earlier articles, shifting power from Sunnis to Shia was a crucial part of the original occupation strategy, which was transparently loony from the get go. It was as if the British invaded the US and decided to replace career politicians and Washington bureaucrats with inexperienced service sector employees from the barrios of LA. Does that make sense? The results turned out to be a disaster, as anyone with half a brain could have predicted. Because the plan was idiotic. No empire has ever operated like that. Of course, there was going to be a tacit alliance between Baghdad and Tehran. The US strategy made that alliance inevitable! Iraq did not move in Iran’s direction. That’s baloney. Washington pushed Iraq into Iran’s arms. Everyone knows this.

So, now what? So now the Obama team wants a “do over”? Is that it?

There are no do overs in history. The sectarian war the US initiated and promoted with its blistering counterinsurgency strategy–which involved massive ethnic cleansing of Sunnis in Baghdad behind the phony “surge” BS– changed the complexion of the country for good. There’s no going back. What’s done is done. Baghdad is Shia and will remain Shia. And that means there’s going to be some connection with Tehran. So, if the Obama people intend to roll back Iran’s influence, then they probably have something else in mind. And they DO have something else in mind. They want to partition the country consistent with an Israeli plan that was concocted more than three decades ago. The plan was the brainstorm of Oded Yinon who saw Iraq as a serious threat to Israel’s hegemonic aspirations, so he cooked up a plan to remedy the problem. Here’s a blurb from Yinon’s primary work titled, “A Strategy for Israel in the Nineteen Eighties”, which is the roadmap that will be used to divide Iraq:
“Iraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other, is guaranteed as a candidate for Israel’s targets. Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria. Iraq is stronger than Syria. In the short run it is Iraqi power which constitutes the greatest threat to Israel. An Iraqi-Iranian war will tear Iraq apart and cause its downfall at home even before it is able to organize a struggle on a wide front against us. Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and in Lebanon. In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman times is possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul, and Shi’ite areas in the south will separate from the Sunni and Kurdish north. It is possible that the present Iranian-Iraqi confrontation will deepen this polarization.” (A Strategy for Israel in the Nineteen Eighties, Oded Yinon,
Repeat: “Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and in Lebanon.”
This is the plan. The United States does not benefit from this plan. The United States does not benefit from a fragmented, Balkanized, broken Iraq. The oil giants are already extracting as much oil as they want. Iraqi oil is, once again, denominated in dollars not euros. Iraq poses no national security threat to the US. US war planners already got what they want. There’s no reason to go back and cause more trouble, to restart the war, to tear the country apart, and to split it into pieces. The only reason to dissolve Iraq, is Israel.

No More Hugh White Pro-war Spin on the Iraqi ISIS Crisis: A letter to The Age Newspaper

Professor Hugh White is either grossly uninformed or a heinous propagandist for war.

His recent article “US has little interest reshaping Iraq and Middle East” neglects the fact that the recent ISIS ascendency has come about through direct US support via training in Jordan (reported in 2012 by Der Spiegel and The Guardian newspapers - after the alternative press caught onto the story in late 2011) and via funding through their ally Saudi Arabia. His spin, that we should not become involved, and that Obama “knows too there is nothing America can do to materially affect what happens there, and he has no intention of really trying”, belies the fact that the US is already deeply involved.

White tells us we should be dealing with reality today, rather than the War Crime invasion of 2003, by inviting us to indulge in his one-sided narrative of sectarian violence thereby divorcing the current situation of any outside influence – especially US involvement.

The facts on the ground indicate that the ISIS terrorists openly running around Iraq are ‘our terrorists’.

The hands off US approach when dealing with ISIS is because they are doing the work of undermining the ‘pro-Assad’ and anti-Sunni Maliki Government that had recently stopped numbers of foreign fighters entering the Syrian conflict. ISIS are acting as proxies for US foreign policy objectives. This is why the US has not immediately bombed their easy-to-hit convoys in the desert, such as they might in Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan or Somalia. The ISIS groups are not sneaking around covertly planting bombs. They are waging a conventional operation backed by large sections of the Sunni minority.

Hugh White also tells his readers that the war in Syria, which has contributed significantly to the present fighting in Iraq, is a Civil War rather than a Proxy War. The transparent involvement of the USA, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar is omitted. White seems ignorant of the fact that all these countries have either admitted direct involvement in the war (Saudi Arabia, Qatar) or were caught helping the rebels, including the extremist groups (Turkey, Israel, USA, Jordan). Indeed, there would be no Syrian war if it were not for the massive involvement of these nations, through the recruitment, training and financing of radical groups responsible for hijacking the pro-democracy movement in Syria.

Professor White, in running his false narrative, therefore does not have to tell his readers why these countries are sponsoring the proxy conflict which has to do with breaking the Shiite Iran-Iraq-Syria-Hezbollah alliance and related oil pipeline plans.

By hiding such important facts about the Middle East, and the geopolitical truth behind the conflict, Hugh White is prolonging the wars. When one cannot find the source of the problem, or only an incomplete answer masquerading as a whole, then we are left treating the symptoms and doing little real good. Hugh White should be ashamed of himself for peddling such a faulty article upon his readers.

I wrote the following intro to this letter to The Age.

Hello Editors,

I’m a bit tired of the misleading spin coming from commentators like Hugh White. He needs to be challenged within the pages of your paper or dropped as a columnist. As an independent news blogger following the conflicts in the Middle East (among other issues), I know for a documented fact that what Hugh White wrote for your paper is a grossly untruthful accounting of the ISIS situation.

I wrote a short response that takes on White’s article appearing below this introduction.

As a test (on a related topic) you should ask an open ended question of Professor White about what he thinks of chemical weapons use Syria. If he is any good, if he has really been following the fighting there in detail, he’ll tell you that although there is a great deal of uncertainty over who used such munitions it looks like the rebels used Chlorine and Sarin gas in order to gain direct US assistance. Carla Del Ponte’s UN team investigating the first Sarin reports came to this conclusion, while the Turks apprehended Al Nusra fighters in Turkey with the chemical components of Sarin, the Chlorine attack followed a rebel takeover of a Chlorine factory, and the Ghouta chemical weapons rocket was fired, according to MIT, from rebel held areas. The UN investigation into the Ghouta incident did not attribute any blame but only tried to confirm whether chemical weapons had been used. Western leaders, the ones involved in the Syrian Proxy War, led by Kerry and Obama, were the ones trumpeting the claim that Assad had unequivocally used such weapons.

I will most likely publish the following reply to White’s article on my news blog. Feel free to publish this response at The Age if you want.

'Gave the Americans a Blow Job for Nothing': Polish FM in Tape Leak Scandal

Poland's foreign minister has been secretly taped comparing his country's relationship with the US to a sexual act. And it's Washington, that's come out on top. A transcript of the leak tape details such actions are costing Poland its relationships with Europe and Russia. Political scientist Mateusz Piskorski says that's something the Polish public already understands.

The people who released the tapes are Polish patriots because they brought the reality of the situation to light. No independent country would want to be a puppet of the corrupt United States Government. Hopefully action will be taken to break from undue influence.

Study Links Autism and Pesticide Exposure

Exposure to common agricultural pesticides during pregnancy increases the risk of developmental delays and autism in children by two-thirds, according to a new study from the University of California, Davis. While researchers did not say pesticides directly cause autism, a direct link is plausible. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one in 68 children has an autism spectrum disorder. RT's Manila Chan discusses the new findings and their implications with epidemiologist and lead researcher for the study, Dr. Janie Shelton

Something is causing the rise in autism and it is probably due to contamination from various sources. Embryos and infants will be susceptible to low doses of hazardous neuro-toxic chemicals.

US vs Syria: How to Lose a War in 3 Years

In Syria, the protracted warfare that eventually revealed Syria’s “freedom fighters” to be armies of foreign-funded terrorists flowing over the nation’s borders is explained as extremists “hijacking” or “derailing” the “revolution.”

To see just how far from reality TIME Magazine and others still perpetuating this myth have departed, readers should recall Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s 2007 New Yorker article, “
The Redirection” which prophetically stated (emphasis added):
To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has cooperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.
Throughout the rest of Hersh’s nine-page report, which came out 4 years before the so-called “Arab Spring” unfolded, is outlined in specific detail how the West and its regional allies including Israel and Saudi Arabia, were already funneling in cash and arraying armed sectarian extremists against Hezbollah inside of Lebanon and against the government of Syria. Hersh’s report even included a retired CIA agent who portended the sectarian nature of the impending, regional conflict.

With the US and its regional partners still pumping in weapons and fighters, it plans to ensure recovery is as slow and as painful as possible. In fact, US policy makers within the corporate-funded Brookings Institution in a 2012 Middle East Memo titled “Assessing Options for Regime Change,” stated (emphasis added):
The United States might still arm the opposition even knowing they will probably never have sufficient power, on their own, to dislodge the Assad network. Washington might choose to do so simply in the belief that at least providing an oppressed people with some ability to resist their oppressors is better than doing nothing at all, even if the support provided has little chance of turning defeat into victory. Alternatively, the United States might calculate that it is still worthwhile to pin down the Assad regime and bleed it, keeping a regional adversary weak, while avoiding the costs of direct intervention.
While in 2012 it was still too early to be sure, it is now without a shadow of a doubt this policy that the US and its regional partners have pursued in the last, losing stages of this conflict.

There were actual pro-democracy protests going on inside Syria at the beginning of the conflict that were immediately hijacked by stooges looking to overthrow the Assad Government (They probably hoped the US would begin bombing like had happened in Libya.)

US is Militarizing Ukraine to Invade Russia. Sergei Glazyev

Putin's economic advisor reveals the massive militarization of Ukraine, intended not only to crush Donbass, but to re-take Crimea, and be the puppets to start another world war for further consolidation of the US hegemony over Eurasia.

Some interesting Russian insights and thinking regarding the conflict in Ukraine - especially the references to the inflammatory statements coming out of Kiev and repeated references to the USA puppeteering the situation. It is little wonder there was an uprising in the east after the coup.

The Russians are faced with a potential escalation of the fighting, which may turn against Crimea, unless they intervene militarily - which is something Washington was hoping for.

Message to ABC News Radio (Australia) Concerning Graham Fuller's Comments on the Iraq Crisis [Activism]

In your morning news show 23/6 you featured comments, concerning the ISIS crisis in Iraq, made by CIA covert operations man Graham Fuller.

You should realise that this guy was involved in running Chechen freedom fighters/terrorists in operations against Russia. His house was the same as the address listed for The Congress of Chechen International Organisations that called for violent jihad against the Russian Government. The man also has connections to the Boston Bombing suspects via their uncle.

This is the sort of guy that would have been involved in 'running' radicals (like Operation 'Gladio B') rather than stopping them. Be careful when considering what he says. His brief is to further US geopolitical interests - in this case to have ISIS attack Syria (or provide a pretext for attacking Syria) and to remove/undermine the pro-Iranian Maliki Government that had hindered the Syrian proxy war operations.

Please visit this link that provides documented information on Mr Fuller:

Russell Brand Calls for Revolution as Tens of Thousands March in London Against Coalition's Austerity Measures

Tens of thousands of people marched through central London on Saturday afternoon in protest at austerity measures introduced by the coalition government. The demonstrators gathered before the Houses of Parliament, where they were addressed by speakers, including comedians Russell Brand and Mark Steel.

An estimated 50,000 people marched from the BBC's New Broadcasting House in central London to Westminster.

"The people of this building [the House of Commons] generally speaking do not represent us, they represent their friends in big business. It's time for us to take back our power," said Brand.

"This will be a peaceful, effortless, joyful revolution and I'm very grateful to be involved in the People's Assembly."

"Power isn't there, it is here, within us," he added. "The revolution that's required isn't a revolution of radical ideas, but the implementation of ideas we already have."

Organised and dedicated people can achieve a great deal. Organisation usually beats disorganisation. It's time to dump the present bank controlled politicians overboard, along with the corrupt bankers. No more financial institution bailouts. No selling of public ASSETS. And no austerity.

Russia Reignites The Proxy War: Putin Offers “Complete Support” To Iraq Prime Minister Scorned By Obama

Well, we said we expected Russia’s conspicuous absence to “change soon”, and so it did: within just 24 hours. Because apparently all Putin was waiting for was for Obama to pick sides (i.e., not Maliki) before the Russian leader made it clear whom he sides with. US, helpfully obliged yesterday morning when we also reported that “US Slams Its Former Iraq Puppet: “The Maliki Government, Candidly, Has Got To Go“.”

So what does Putin – who as a reminder is heavily invested in Iraq’ massive West Qurna-2 oil field via Lukoil - do? Why announce his undying support for Maliki, of course, and as AP reported, the former KGB spy offered Iraqi premier Nuri al-Maliki Russia’s total backing for the fight against fighters who have swept across the country, as well as his full support for the embattled prime minister.
And just like in Syria from 2012 to 2013, the chessboard is once again set, with a regional middle-east conflict, this time in Iraq, merely serving as the proxy staging ground in which the Iraqi PM, once an obedient US puppet but now an enemy of Saudi Arabia and thus the US, “simply has to go” in the words of Dianne Feinstein, has suddenly become the fulcrum issue behind yet another soon to escalate conflict between Russia and the US.

One thing is certain: the more the US (and Saudi Arabia, and Qatar) pushes for Maliki’s ouster, the more involved Russia will become with its offers of support and bilateral cooperation. And if the Syrian fiasco (for John Kerry) is any indication, Russia is about to expand its “national interest” sphere of influence by one more country.

By using terrorist or extremist groups the 'western military alliance' has put themselves on the wrong side of International Law. This invites US rivals - like Russia and China - to undermine the strategy by moving against the terrorism. In all cases the Russians do not even have to get directly involved. They can legitimately arm the opposition to the terrorists, and even introduce game changing airpower if needed.

So far attempts by the west to repeat what happened in Libya have failed.

Doctors Helpless Against Worst-Ever Ebola Outbreak

The Ebola outbreak that was called "unprecedented" when it had killed 80 people in March has now infected at least 500 people in three countries and health authorities say they're not sure how to stop it. The outbreak has now killed at least 337 people, making it the worst since the incurable virus surfaced in 1976, and reported cases have surged 60% over the last two weeks. "There are many villages in the eastern part of Sierra Leone that are basically devastated," a virologist tells NPR. "We walked into one village ... and we found 25 corpses. One house with seven people, all in one family, were dead."
Experts say the virus tends to kill so quickly that outbreaks are relatively easy to stop, but this outbreak, the first major one in West Africa, is different, with the virus spreading from Guinea into Sierra Leone and Liberia.

According to the article the outbreak is already in the Liberian capital. With a long incubation period the virus appears to have successfully entered the general population. The entire region here must be put under quarantine, with restricted travel.

Professor Francis Boyle on Impeachment of Bush and Obama — Paul Craig Roberts

In my day if an experienced professor of international and constitutional law, such as University of Illinois Professor Francis A. Boyle, called for impeachment of a president, it was a serious situation for the president. But no more. Today an American president can ride roughshod over constitutional lawyers, the US Constitution and US statutory law without any danger of impeachment. To avoid impeachment today, all a president has to do is to avoid having a sexual affair with a White House intern in the Oval Office, or is that the Oral Orifice.

America’s last two presidents, Obama and George W. Bush, have established the precedent that impeachment is a “dead letter law.” Impeachment is unlikely ever again to be a threat to a tyrannical president. Congress and the Federal Judiciary have accepted their impotence. Both “coequal” branches of government are happy in their subservience to the Executive Power. Members of Congress and the Judiciary are still permitted to pretend that they are important, like Roman Senators under the Caesars, but both are incapable of challenging the Executive Branch where a Caesar now rules independently of law and the Constitution.
“After two hours of most vigorous debate among those in attendance, the meeting adjourned with second revised draft Bills of Impeachment sitting on the table.”

Professor Boyle said to former Attorney General Ramsey Clark on the way out of the building after the two hour debate:

“Ramsey, I don’t understand it. Why didn’t those people take me up on my offer to stick around, polish up my draft bills of impeachment, and put them in there right away in order to head off this war?

“And Ramsey replied: ‘I think most of the people there want a war.’”

And, Indeed, they did. John Podesta representing the Democratic National Committed told Conyers that the Democratic Party did not want Conyers to pursue the impeachment effort. Instead, the Democratic Party wanted to give Republicans Bush and Cheney their war on Iraq so that the Democrats would fare better in the national elections in 2004. Think about that, not just the stupidity of the Democratic Party–whenever has a party at war been in danger of electoral defeat? Look and see! Here is the spokesman for the Democratic Party telling Conyers: “Don’t prevent a war, because we will benefit politically from it. Let the Iraqi people die. Let our soldiers die. We Democrats will benefit from it.”

You can listen to Professor Boyle tell the story here: If you are impatient, listen to the 7 minute marker to the 9:35 marker.

Once upon a time Democrats were less vicious than Republicans, but no more. I can remember when Democrats were the Humane Party. This was before the corporations and their “free market” shills sent the industrial and manufacturing jobs to Asia, destroying the industrial and manufacturing basis of the Democratic Party in the working people. Today the Democrats have to appeal to Wall Street, to the Military/Security Complex, and to the Evironmental Despoilers in the Agribusiness, Timber, Mining, and Energy industries.

Obama completed George W. Bush’s destruction of the US Constitution. Neither party represents you or America, unless you are the one percent.

U.S. Caught Training ISIS Terrorist At Secret Jordan Base

Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country's northern desert region.

That report has since been corroborated by numerous other media accounts

Weapons and support for this Al Qaeda linked group, currently overrunning Iraq, have continued to flood in from the 'western military alliance' in efforts to topple President Assad in Syria. These are 'our' terrorists. The sooner the public wakes up to this fact the sooner pressure can be put on to stop the proxy war.

The second video starts out with the point that the US could stop these terrorists with an air campaign- since they are driving in convoy across the desert - and yet no actions are taken.

Modern Terrorism and Privateers - This is What is Going on in Iraq and Syria with ISIS

When they cant hire out to Islamic crazies as secret privateers, they just contract out openly to Christian fanatics through private organizations like Blackwater. Blackwater however can not even pretend to pose as grass root revolutionaries, that's why the CIA uses its rent-a-terrorist Islamic fanatics for those operations.

When terrorists are running amok the US would be expected to bomb them immediately with drones or aircraft - and they do in places like Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan where a large number of civilians are also killed. The non-action in Iraq (which was predicatable) is because ISIS is fullfilling US goals, like undermining the pro-Iranian Maliki Government and, more importantly, fighting against Assad's Government in Syria.

The funding and training for the jihadists comes from a western military alliance involving Turkey and Saudi Arabia. These are 'our' terrorists. Just because people are getting massacred does not mean western governments have no involvement is what is happening. They're up to their eyeballs in it. Expect escalated fighting in Eastern Syria.

Last March, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported Americans were training Syrian rebels in Jordan.

Quoting what it said were training participants and organizers, Der Spiegel reported it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were with the U.S. Army, but the magazine said some organizers wore uniforms. The training in Jordan reportedly focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.

If you visit the link you can see a number of other mainstream sources reporting that Syrian rebels were being trained in Jordan. The chaotic situation in Iraq is due largely, once again, to foreign intervention.

Kucinich: Stop Calling the Iraq War a 'Mistake'

As Iraq descends into chaos again, more than a decade after "Mission Accomplished," media commentators and politicians have mostly agreed upon calling the war a "mistake." But the "mistake" rhetoric is the language of denial, not contrition: it minimizes the Iraq War's disastrous consequences, removes blame, and deprives Americans of any chance to learn from our generation's foreign policy disaster. The Iraq War was not a "mistake" -- it resulted from calculated deception. The painful, unvarnished fact is that we were lied to. Now is the time to have the willingness to say that.

In fact, the truth about Iraq was widely available, but it was ignored. There were no WMD. Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11. The war wasn't about liberating the Iraqi people. I said this in Congress in 2002. Millions of people who marched in America in protest of the war knew the truth, but were maligned by members of both parties for opposing the president in a time of war -- and even leveled with the spurious charge of "not supporting the troops."

Asking the Wrong Questions About Iraq and Syria (Another Letter to the Australian ABC News Corporation)

The following email was sent in response to an interview conducted on the Australian ABC News show Lateline (16/6), that dealt with the activities of ISIS in Iraq. The title of the segment was ISIS wants full blow sectarian warfare in Iraq.

Emma Alberici and ABC researchers are obviously unaware of a number of facts regarding the ISIS (ISIL) terrorist activities in Iraq and Syria.

You allowed Daniel Benjamin to feed you a whole series of half truths about the present situation in Iraq which is very much related to the war in Syria.

The first thing to understand is that the war in Syria is a proxy conflict, with sponsorship of extremists coming from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, with US and Israeli approval.

This western military alliance is using the ISIS group to destroy the Syrian state.

Relatively recently the Saudis came out publicly stating that the US hands off approach was not acceptable and that they would fund fighting forces in order to remove Assad. They already were funding the fighting - and so has the US via Turkey, since at least May 2011, in the first months of the war.

None of this is a secret and the information is freely available online. It is a mystery why none of the Lateline team seem aware of it.

The relevance to the fighting in Iraq is that the same ISIS groups operating in Syria with (covert) western backing are now undermining the Iraqi Government.

If the US intended to stop these insurgents in Iraq they would urgently organise a bombing campaign in the desert. At the moment they are playing games and delaying any action with a plethora of excuses.

The delay is intentional because the Maliki Government is friendly to Iran and has helped stem the tide of insurgents going into Syria. The US will play for a standoff situation in Iraq so that the border to Syria can be left open to reinvigorate the fighting and allow men and materiel to flow in without hindrance.

You forgot to ask Daniel Benjamin about the geopolitical situation and the fact that US allies Turkey and Saudi Arabia have had a huge hand in supporting extremists in the Syrian proxy war.

Furthermore you are still running with the US propaganda (spewed most notably from both Kerry and Obama) that the Assad Government used chemical weapons in the war.

If you had been following the conflict you SHOULD KNOW that the Turks stopped Al Nusra insurgents with the chemical ingredients of Sarin in Turkey, that the rebels had threatened to use chemical weapons, that they were identified by the UN (Carla del Ponte's team) as the perpetrators of an early Sarin chemical attack, that the rebels also were responsible for a chlorine gas attack (after overrunning a chemical plant that made chlorine), and that the Ghouta chemical attack ordinance was fired from inside rebel held areas - according to an MIT study, and that no proof had been provided showing the Syrian Government was responsible for any of this - especially considering how stupid it would have been since it invited direct US intervention.

Alberici's interview questions made your show look like amateur hour. You obviously have no idea what is going on over there.

As a public broadcaster you have failed to provide an accurate account of the conflict. You have just aired US talking-point information that is entirely baseless.

Correct yourselves and stop airing lies to your audience. You are perpetuating war by repeating propaganda.

Note: I ended up forwarding this message to other ABC News Programs and a commerical news program in an effort to stop the misleading, pro-war narrative on the fighting:

Dear The Project,

It is important, with talk about Australian involvement in the Iraq ISIS crisis, that you, as a news program, understand what is going on over there.

I thought it easiest to simply paste my emails to various ABC News programs – particularly the one to Media Watch.

You must be careful of your guest/co-host Waleed Aly because he is just as ‘clueless’ on this issue as all the others. Writing in The Age recently Aly advocated for western intervention in Syria while chastising the neocon war against Iraq in 2003. He did not tell the readers of the newspaper that the present situation in Iraq has come about thanks to (covert) intervention by Saudi Arabia and NATO (including the USA) in the Syrian war which has long been a proxy conflict. The all important proxy war aspect was never addressed.

The pro-war propaganda, and misleading information that dangerously tells only half the story concerning the conflict - information that does not strike at the root causes of the fighting - must be challenged.

Below is my message to Media Watch.

Dangerous Half Truths and misinformation about the ISIS crisis in Iraq appearing in ABC news content (must be urgently addressed)

Hello Media Watch,

You need to take urgent action to address grossly misleading ABC reports concerning the ISIS situation in Iraq. I have already emailed the Lateline and ABC News Radio programs. Please follow up on my efforts because there is talk of Australian involvement in the crisis.

Below I have pasted my message to ABC News Radio that covers the Lateline reporting on this issue.

Thanks for your attention

Dear News Radio,

You are making a big mistake with your reporting on the ISIS situation in Iraq. I sent an email complaint last night to the ABC Lateline program that dealt with the same issue.

The problem is that the existing western military alliance in the region, that includes Saudi Arabia and NATO country Turkey, has been supporting groups like ISIS for geopolitical reasons.

Your web poll question, about whether the international community should get involved, is a misleading question. Sections of the international community are already involved.

It might help if you read my message to Lateline:

Asking the Wrong Questions About Iraq and Syria

Emma Alberici and ABC researchers are obviously unaware of a number of facts regarding the ISIS (ISIL) terrorist activities in Iraq and Syria ...

This letter writing ploy may have worked to a degree. Although I have not received any email response, this morning's (18/6) ABC News Radio is now reporting that apart from the Maliki Government blaming the Saudis, the Saudis themselves have admitted their funding for ISIS 'but only in Syria'. They did not elaborate on the proxy war story or indicate that it involved a number of countries including the USA. At least this is progress. It never hurts to try pushing for truth in media.

George Galloway vs. U.S Senate (5/17/05)

British MP Galloway, falsely accused of taking bribes from Saddam Hussein, tears the US Senate a new one in this exhilarating MSNBC clip that grows more apropos every day.

3 minutes of awesome. MP George Galloway points out that the US position on Iraq in 2003 was mired in lies and corruption. This is why we should never take US claims about anything to do with war at face value.

‘Exhausted’ Obama to Drive Golf Balls as ISIS Drives on Baghdad, Twitter Erupts

CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller was simply doing his job when he tweeted President Barack Obama‘s weekend plans. Little did he know that his effort would unleash a wave of criticism directed at the president.

With the situation in Iraq at critical mass and Baghdad on the verge of falling into the hands of the Islamic militant group known as ISIS, and the impending humanitarian crises unfolding on the southern border with Mexico, folks were simply astonished at what they were seeing.

Perhaps leaning on the old adage that it’s better to laugh than to cry, Twitter users let the sarcasm fly, as documented by Twitchy.

And based on some of the responses, while the media may still adore him, this president has worn out his welcome with the American people.

There are great twitter observations at the link. It is not surprising that the US is failing to act - because stopping ISIS in Iraq serves the interests of peace - and supports the Governments of Syria and the Iran friendly Maliki Administration.

National Geographic Reports – Chemicals Causing Infertility in Pigs are Present Throughout Human Consumer Goods

Some of the same chemicals found in the pigs’ semen storage bags are routinely used in packaging food for humans and are known to migrate into food.
Cyclic lactone, for instance, is a common by-product in adhesives used in potato chip bags and sliced meat packages. It was one of the chemicals found in high levels in the semen bags that had been used on the farms with the highest rates of reproductive failure.

Another chemical found in high levels on those farms: a compound called BADGE, a derivative of the notorious bisphenol A (BPA). It’s the building block of epoxy resins that form the basis for 95 percent of food and beverage can linings in the U.S.

- From the excellent and troubling article recently published by National Geographic, Infertility in Spanish Pigs Has Been Traced to Plastics. A Warning for Humans?

We live in an environment filled with man-made chemicals that interfere with our bodily function. It would be naive to assume there is no impact on our health and morphology especially in relation to embryos and periods of our life cycle that involve physiological change.

NATO’s Terror Hordes in Iraq a Pretext for Syria Invasion

All roads lead to Baghdad and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is following them all, north from Syria and Turkey to south. Reading Western headlines, two fact-deficient narratives have begun gaining traction. The first is that this constitutes a “failure” of US policy in the Middle East, an alibi as to how the US and its NATO partners should in no way be seen as complicit in the current coordinated, massive, immensely funded and heavily armed terror blitzkrieg toward Baghdad. The second is how ISIS appears to have “sprung” from the sand dunes and date trees as a nearly professional military traveling in convoys of matching Toyota trucks without explanation.

In actuality, ISIS is the product of a joint NATO-GCC conspiracy stretching back as far as 2007 where US-Saudi policymakers sought to ignite a region-wide sectarian war to purge the Middle East of Iran’s arch of influence stretching from its borders, across Syria and Iraq, and as far west as Lebanon and the coast of the Mediterranean. ISIS has been harbored, trained, armed, and extensively funded by a coalition of NATO and Persian Gulf states within Turkey’s (NATO territory) borders and has launched invasions into northern Syria with, at times, both Turkish artillery and air cover. The most recent example of this was the cross-border invasion by Al Qaeda into Kasab village, Latikia province in northwest Syria.

In March, ISIS withdrew its terror battalions from Latikia and Idlib provinces and repositioned them in the east of Syria, now clearly in preparations for invading northern Iraq. The Daily Star reported in a March 2014 article titled, “Al-Qaeda splinter group in Syria leaves two provinces: activists,”
The alleged territorial holdings of ISIS cross over both Syrian and Iraqi borders meaning that any campaign to eradicate them from Iraqi territory can easily spill over into Syria’s borders. And that is exactly the point. With ISIS having ravaged Mosul, Iraq near the Turkish border and moving south in a terror blitzkrieg now threatening the Iraqi capital of Baghdad itself, the Iraqi government is allegedly considering calling for US and/or NATO assistance to break the terror wave. Adding to the pretext, ISIS, defying any sound tactical or strategic thinking, has seized a Turkish consulate in Mosul, taking over 80 Turkish hostages - serendipitous giving Turkey not only a new pretext to invade northern Iraq as it has done many times in pursuit of alleged Kurdish militants, but to invade Syrian territory where ISIS is also based.
The US, NATO, and Persian Gulf States are Behind ISIS
Published in 2007 – a full 4 years before the 2011 “Arab Spring” would begin – Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s New Yorker article titled, “
The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” stated specifically (emphasis added):
To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has co√∂perated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.
Throughout the Syrian conflict, which began in 2011, the West and its regional partners have sent billions in cash, weapons, and equipment. In the March 2013 Telegraph article titled, “US and Europe in ‘major airlift of arms to Syrian rebels through Zagreb’,” it is reported:
It claimed 3,000 tons of weapons dating back to the former Yugoslavia have been sent in 75 planeloads from Zagreb airport to the rebels, largely via Jordan since November

With the recent election in Syria and the fact that NATO bombing against Syrian Government forces would be hard to explain, it is likely that the strengthened ISIS forces could be driven out of Iraq (perhaps by Iranian forces that are reported to have entered the fight) and into Syria to reignite the proxy war. Any introduction of NATO airpower against the rebels would stall any of their advances or retreats. Western forces will not want to destroy their proxy army, only have it move into Syria. Undermining the Iraqi Government that is pro-Iranian/Syrian is another objective that should not be forgot.
