Israel, Syria, Iraq: Who Benefits from the Beirut Blast?

At least eight are dead and 118 wounded after a car bomb rocked the Lebanese capital of Beirut. The attack in the majority Christian neighborhood killed a top-ranking security official.

I find it very hard to believe the Syrians had anything to do with this attack - as is being reported in the mainstream. This assassination can only work against the Syrian Government if the local population believes that is the case rather than suspecting the other likely party, which is Israel.
