'If Israel Bombs Iran, Arab States Will Support Tehran'

Tension around Iran has spiralled. Tehran is carefully avoiding being provoked so as not to vie the US and Israel an excuse for military action. Though activists believe the extra sanctions and economic blockade of Tehran is already an 'act of war'. RT has talked to Brian Becker, the national coordinator of the A.N.S.W.E.R. anti-war coalition on the reasons behind the instability in the region.

Iran is not a threat. There is no need for another unnecessary war.

However, Brian Becker is wrong in saying that the USA has the real power over Israel. This is not true. The extortion and bribery done by Israeli lobby groups is massive. Look at the number of visits of US politicians to Israel rather than the other way around. Look at the reaction of the US Congress to the visit by the Israeli PM. Someone is holding the leash of a great many US politicians.

Note: The invasion of Iraq was pushed and successfully launched by Israel-first US politicians - the neocons. See here.

I think it is still debatable whether it's the dog or the tail that is in charge.

It's still a question whether Iraq was about the oil, or about Israeli plans.

I think the problem we have in trying to resolve this question, in trying to reveal the government's exact motivations, is due to just how weak democracy is in this country.

That is, except for Rep. Paul, there is no one speaking about Iran and whether it is just or prudent to get into a war with Iran. Most of his opponents are into mass murder and aggressive war on Hitlerian/Yamamotoan proportions.

The politicians don't get challenged by anyone strong enough to make them come clean.\

So, we may never know what the government was after when they destroyed Iraq and Afghanistan.
